Some stuff about god in the heavenly mechanics universe! I enjoy thinking about it as a boundless creative with no restrictions. For the worst and for the best. It gets art block. It gets sad over failure, and tries to remedy it until it's too late and it feels like destroying it is kinder. Angels were never treated like its creation, though— more as extensions of itself. An angel would be killed once their "purpose" was fulfilled, and their core used to make another. This is a choice given to them, but because they have the purpose of guide implemented into their mind, it's an easy one. A few do develop some form of conscious, though, and are more often just lounging about, or helping new angels do their jobs.

God died right as humanity began, so really humans prayed to something that wasn't. Most of humanity's knowledge about god came from angels, back when they were trying to guide them. Angels do not have a concept of time, at least not in their realms, so what feels like years to humans is nothing to them— angels elected to destroy humanity after seeing the pain it was causing, for itself and for other creations of God. They felt like humanity was a stain on God's legacy, basically.
