Hi, I'm an Artist!

Hi everyone! Let me present myself

I am a freelance artist from Italy and I do mainly digital art (even tho I love painting and classic art styles as well).

I draw because I've always enjoyed doing it and it's my way to show how much I love certain characters.

The programs that I use are Procreate and Paint Tool Sai.

Below are some examples of my art :D

Okay, so... I had a small story idea, but I don't think I'll continue it, since it's about heroes, and I'm not good nor at writing nor drawing them...

Anyway, I thought that it could be fun sharing it, since I never share my story ideas, even if I'll never finish this (or maybe I will, it's up to chance)

I'll put the synopsis under the cut:

Not a hero!

The strongest hero of the world didn't have a “real” childhood, having spent it in a specialized center for the upbringing of young heroes. She (like many others, that, unlike her, failed to reach their respective educators expectations) lived her life confined, where the only place she was permitted to go were laboratories, classrooms and training grounds between the institute grounds. That's why, when she finally had the chance, she ran away. The strongest hero died, and a eighteen years old student of a highschool in the outskirts was born. Enthusiast of Tamagotchi and pancakes with syrup, she now lives a tranquil life, thinking she has finally found peace… If only her arch enemy would give up on searching for her…

I'm in the mood of sharing something, so I'll do it.

I have a story idea that's almost two years old, and that's really important to me for the feelings it holds.

Another thing that's really important to me is it's main character, Adele.

I already posted a drawing of her, if I remember correctly.

Anyway, the story isn't of the happiest, it's actually a story about mental illness, so, as expected, it should be at least a bit dramatic or sad.

Returning to the main topic, I gave her a childhood that is full of judgement and miscommunication form others, and, because of that, she always feels misunderstood and "a waste of air", to say it in simple words.

And her future isn't of the simplest either, because she gets pulled into situations in which she is forced to interact with other characters as flawed and broken as her.

Or at least that's the objective, but it's still under processing.

Anyway, I was worried that her character was too happy, sweet and innocent for her past experience and theme of the story, and thought of replacing her with a completely different character.

Thing that hurted me, because I'm really fond of Adele.

But, luckily, my old teacher (the one that told me to write more happy or romantic stories, yes, that one) convinced me to keep her.

He just told me to not immediately show her past, and to reveal how she got where she is now later, once I'll draw the comic (if I'll do it, I really hope I do). And that he also gets attached to his characters, so, the message I got from that is that it's something totally normal.

Said that, I'll continue the story like I've been doing till now, with a sweet and cheerful main character.

And honestly, I'm glad. I really wasn't feeling like abandoning one of my favourite babies.

Yeah, my OCs are my babies, problems? 🤨

Since I had already drawn her some times in the past, here's two little sketches of my Jujustu Kaisen OC, Chiyo!

I'll see how to change her design, since I had altered her story a bit (yeah, she existed for a while now), but I don't think I'll make her much more different.

(Anyway, me hoping she won't receive the "Elaine treatment", but certainly will, so I'll try to draw her as much as possible before getting bored of her)

Anyway, they may seem all "lovey-dovey", but their story is actually pure drama...

I really want to create a romance story, but I just can't... I don't know why, but everytime I come up with a romance story plot idea, it can go two ways: first one, I get tired of it right after creating it; or two, I turn it into a more dramatic (and interesting) story.

No matter how many times I try to come up with a corny and sweet romance story, it comes out banal and unoriginal.

They say that stories ideas come from experiences, so maybe it's because I have zero romantic experience (and many sad memories) that I can't...

But it's unfair, I wanna create a romance story too 😭!

Anyway, this thought came up while I was answering to my teacher, that taught me how to do comics last year.

Firstly; this art is so cute and sweet that it makes my teeth hurt 🥺😭💕!

Secondly; Personally I don’t think romance experience has anything to with when “writing romance” 🤔. Sure it can help with ideas and characters, but in my experience that’s as far as it goes (I’ve only had a little bit of romantic myself, so most of what I write I just…make up or borrow from books/movies/tv shows/etc).

If you’re wanting some ideas I would look at some prompt lists, those are very helpful for me! And don’t rush the story, just take your time and it’ll come to you 🥰! You can always just start off with a drabble or a small idea and then work your way from there!

And just have fun with writing! Trying to come up with an original story is hard, but don’t give up, it’ll come to you and then it’ll be an amazing story 😁!

For some reason my ideas for romance stories are always bland, and I rather prefer my dramatic stories, I find them more interesting...

But everyone, EVERYONE I tell my stories to, they always tell me that they're too "sad", "dramatic", to "try something on a happier note" or "more romantic"...

And that's how my rant started, because my teacher told me to try creating a more happy and romantic story, or at least not my usual dramas...

But... I try, I really do... But only my dramatic stories satisfy me... who knows why, maybe I am kinda insane (I wouldn't be too shocked)

I feel really bad that I haven't posted anything on social media for a while, but art block sucks... And since I have art block, drawing has been especially difficult in the last few months. Only now it seems that I'm getting into drawing again, but just a little...

Anyway, since I don't know when and if I'll draw Elaine again, here's the drawings of her I haven't shared yet...

My favourite drawing of Elaine and also one of my favourite drawings. This is her "transformation", or maybe "true form"? I don't know how to explain it, just know that it has to do with her soul being the soul of a deceased deity(?)...

Yeah, I just spoiled all her character...

Doesn't matter, I really wanted to share that drawing.
