Abusive/toxic ex or bf eren trope in ererei is the most lackluster and honestly annoying dynamic imaginable. It's been run into the ground at this point. It's repetitive and boring, I genuenly cannot stand it. It's so prevalent it made me stop engaging with this fandom, I don't read fics anymore, and at one point I was one foot out the door from the fandom. The only thing keeping me here are my fics and a couple of artists on twitter. And maybe 3 fics on ao3. You will never catch me writing this fuckass dynamic.
Somehow, sometimes trying to be nice to them ends up being more stressful than some anbu missions

The way ererei shippers treat both Eren and Reiner has seriously made me fall out of love with the ship 🥲 They are NOT "psycho abusive Eren x crybaby helpless Reiner" but unfortunately that is what they've been reduced to by a loud majority. Bring me back to pre-season 4 when it was still a rare pair. Their relationship is so complex and amazing, yet they're reduced to their entire personalities based around their meeting in Liberio where Reiner had a (VERY justified) breakdown. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Makes me so sad
