I’m starting a new book today! I spent the last couple of days rereading my synopsis and organizing my Pinterest page in preparation. It’s a Christmas book for Harlequin Desire, so it’s the perfect time to write it! I’ve been yapping about it online, but in case you missed it, the tropes are: Christmas, female billionaire, opposites attract, AND a marriage of convenience. Also: the hero is her oldest brothers best friend. (!!!) I like the vibe of the book already, with a young, determined woman and a rough-cut guy. Thanks to my procrastinating, I found this lovely coral-pinky color yesterday and proceeded to update my FB and Twitter headers, and website banners. I also stumbled across this adorable cocktail glass and put a lemon on it… which made the perfect new logo for the Lemmondrops! *grin* You know that means the next Lemmon 15 will likely feature this color as well, right? SO… funny story… at 2:43 AM this morning while I was sleeping, windows open, cool breeze pleasantly covering the room, I was awoken by a rather sudden, rather FOUL smell. It infiltrated every corner of my sleeping quarters and NO, it wasn’t John or the dog. It was coming from outside—the unmistakable fragrance of SKUNK. I started to panic. Did a skunk die in front of my house? Or worse, DID IT DIE IN MY HOUSE?! The hubs shut the bedroom windows and left the fan on, and after about twenty minutes of nearly suffocating under my blankets, I ventured downstairs to check to see if the scent was still pummeling the air. It wasn’t. Soon after the horribly familiar skunky scent had dissipated from our bedroom as well, and within the hour it was gone. I’m not sure why my stinky friend decided to pay us a visit, but I’m glad he didn’t stick around! (And now you know why I featured a skunk on my graphic today.) So, here's a nerd 🤓 fact about me: when I open a new cookbook, I read it from start to finish. I love the layout, photos, the story behind why the author began eating the way he/she does. I love food. Correction: I love GOOD food. This book was recommended by my vegetarian (sometimes pescatarian) aunt and purchased for me by my omnivore mom. I'm on page fourteen and so excited to try several of these recipes! I used to be vegan, then vegetarian, and like my aunt now eat fish sometimes. There's not a right or wrong way to eat, only food that makes you feel better. The author of this book believes the same, and I predict she and I are going to enjoy many meals together. 😉 PLUS.
