My new year’s resolution is to stay woke. 2015 was for me, a year of recognizing the darkness within myself that was still leftover from some of the toxicity I was raised with. I learned how to search for light around me when I could find none and I learned that sometimes I have to make my own. Hopefully, 2016 will be the year of learning how to take that inner light and press it outwards. I want to be a force for good while still being able to stand up for myself while living in a culture full of toxic ideas and blind thinking. What I really want out of this new year is to grow in the right direction.
