snippets of memories

leon grew up in an italian immigrant household, his parents died young due to their ties to crime. he doesn’t remember a lot from this part of his life, but the adults said he looked like his mom. he stopped thinking about her a long time ago, but in moments close to death, her faceless image appears in his mind.

ada used to be called another name. she can’t remember it. she loved her father a lot and would always bring him the newspapers from town, tied together with thick twine. she kept her hair in 2 braids, neat and tidy. for 1980s china, they were considered wealthy, because she never starved.

carlos was forced into a life of violence after watching it take his older brothers, who were teenagers. one day, the military men came and he never saw his little siblings or family again. he didn’t realize it was the last time until it was too late. umbrella was easy in comparison. he really wasn’t that scared in raccoon city either.

luis lived in a place that resented scientific advancements, but he loved all the life he saw in the world and wanted to understand how it all worked. had his curiosity been guided properly, maybe things could’ve been different.
