“eat this or starve” is bad parenting and can be traumatizing for children

As someone who has 2 eating disorders, keep in mind saying shit like “starve or eat your food on your plate” ONLY DRAMATICALLY increases the risk of eating disorders developing. Those with avoidant restrictive food intake disorder WILL starve before eating. Once everyone goes to bed, they’ll just sneak their preferred food because they were forced to starve earlier.

No one should be sobbing when you’re trying to get a kid to eat something. If they are, you fucked up.
