authors note: sorry for the sudden 3 week hiatus, I’ve been pretty much taking breaks for myself and after graduating high school I’ve been pretty busy applying for my job for my leap year so around next month I won’t be posting as much.

🌀 Salutations Neighbor pt. 2 🌀
A decision was made as you looked down at him. He had that goofy smile and a stare that either made you uneasy or irritated, "why do you like staring?", you stared back, not breaking eye contact at all. "I just stare. So you know who you're talking to", Wally smiled as you sighed deeply.
You got up and went to get ready for the day, just brushed your teeth and washed your face using cold water. Once done you got out of the bathroom and saw Wally struggling to get down the bed, you laughed at yourself about it. "Need help?", Wally nodded as you came up and helped the puppet down, "Thank you neighbor", he started following you.
Wally tugged at your pjs and looked up at you like a cat needing some food, “yes what is it Wally?”, he smiled, “neighbor why do some humans get up early and some get up later?”, your first initial thought about that question would tell him that’s a dumb question but he’s a puppet for crying out loud. “mmm depends Wally, sometimes these humans have work during the morning or the day”, it was more logical because it’s an ambiguous answer and that made Wally satisfied with that answer.
Arriving at the kitchen, you started to cook some eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Wally stood there menacingly as he watched you cook, although you didn’t seem to care since it’s so early in the morning to process a puppet here at your own apartment. “Do puppets even eat?”, you asked in curiosity as Wally put his hand on his chin, “no puppets do not eat at all…”, you nodded and put your cooked breakfast on the plate and cut the stove off as you grabbed your plate of breakfast and went to the smart tv to cut on some YouTube.
Wally who sat next to you tilted his head and did his iconic half lidded expression again, “neighbor what is you tube? Does that mean you in a tube? Or a tube full of you’s?”, that question was so ridiculous and funny that you almost choked on your piece of bacon. “No Wally, YouTube is hmm how can I say this in simpler terms…it’s a platform to watch other people and they do many things”, you took a bite of your pancake as he wondered, “what’s a platform? All I know of the platform is something you can balance from, that’s what Barnaby told me…”, oh boy you have a lot to teach this puppet the way the world works now.
Luckily it’s a Saturday morning and not a work day of course, your mind still half asleep and awake, you didn’t like to ask any questions until later in the afternoon so you shifted the topic making the puppet to not ponder anymore. “So Wally what is your world like? Of course you like to notice a few key things that are different around my apartment and your world”, that is when the puppet yapped away about everything.
He was pretty straightforward but in a way that you can take offense from but he didn’t mean to offend you. He’s just unaware of sensing people’s emotions or feelings and you just need to tell him that. But oh well you can tell him later.
“Well neighbor, a lot to point out of course is that your apartment is not as alive as home.”
“Oh yeah? Can you explain a bit more?”, you sipped your coffee and leaned back on your couch a bit while watching the news now on your smart TV.
“Well home, speak to me, by creaks like doors, windows closing, your apartment or so called home is not as alive. You humans have odd colors, our world is much colorful and bright, it isn’t the same color over and over again, filled with yellows, blues, and reds—oh! and the grass is much greener and brighter”.
(Y/n), thought to themselves, if he was a real person he would’ve been sent to the mental ward for being delusional and crazy, but he’s a puppet for christ sakes. It was quite a lot to take in as (she/he/they) sipped their coffee.
“Well Wally, that is a great observation, now do you have any experience of our world?”, the puppet tilted its head back and put his finger onto his lip and opened it a bit, he was indeed the definition of a silly man, it made (y/n) laugh a bit.
“That’s alright Wally, since you’re here with me, i guess I can teach you our world now.”, Wally let out a smile and his half lidded expression, “that’s very neighborly of you darling."
