You wanna be an ally? You wanna “punch Nazis?” Keep reading. Look, people. This is fucking serious. Please read.
We aren’t glitter bombing Nazis. We aren’t throwing flour on them. We definitely aren’t going to peacefully shut them down. They want to kill us, they said so in Charlottesville. They made it very clear where they stand and how they plan on taking action. Their violence needs to be met with great force.
If you are not down to physically fight these fuckers, please stay off the front lines. You’ll get hurt and your pacifism will be a liability, resulting in others being hurt. Run support. We need more support.
-Go to a street medic training -Run jail support -If you’re good at using the internet (as in better than average), learn how to securely (and correctly) doxx these people. -If you’re a creative type, write a zine about anti-fascism -If you’re EMT trained, HOST a street medic training -Become a legal observer through the National Lawyers Guild -Set up letter writing events to send to political prisoners -There’s a lot of parents who want to fight but can’t because of their kids, watch their kids for them -If you can cook, organize food drives/pot lucks for the larger demonstrations. -Help people in more counseling/therapy ways. -Help get needed supplies, such as food, water, and medical supplies. -When organizing, inclusivity is not optional, and is mandatory to win. -Listen to the concerns of those most effected.
Add any extra support jobs you think of.

Why I don't dress like a Chola
(some ramblings but I’m trying to process this and explain my perspective)
So I was in middle school in the 90s…. The time that people are now emulating And I admire the chola aesthetic…. but going to those 90s hood inspired events reminded me why I don’t and will never dress like a chola…
I saw all these girls dressed in the 90s chola style and all of the sudden I was transported back to my brace face self in middle school
I was a nerd. And by that I mean, I was like reading dr. Doolittle books by myself in the library sometimes
And it was the cholitas that would tell me I wasn’t Mexican because I did not dress like them. It was the cholitas that were mean to me for being a nerd. But on the other hand, I defended them when white students would say they were “chuntis” and “beaners” and I just felt like such a confused in between person…. that 90s aesthetic that is so cool right now reminds me of the time that our identities were ridged… a time that wearing hoops and dark lipstick was seen as the ONLY way to be Mexicana/chicana….. and if you weren’t that, you weren’t Mexicana, you were a “white girl”. It didn’t matter that I watched “Preciosa” and “Soñadoras” novelas or that I wore Beaded jewelry or that I spent summers in Mexico with my family…. I was a nerd and so that made me a “white girl”.
The thing is, there’s no one way to be a chicana. And as I’ve said before I’m down for all types of chicanas for chicanxs, for xicanas, for xicanx skaters, punks, rockabillies… city chicanas, small town xicanas, artist chicanas, athlete chicanas, queer xicanxs, multiracial xicanas and of course nerd xicanas.
And so I’ll never dress like a chola most importantly because I’m not one.

To my fellow humans
So much crap has been happening to this world and it is devastating. Mexico had a 7.1 earthquake that affects people and homes, Puerto Rico had a category 5 Hurricane Maria, and Florida and Texas are still recovering from hurricane Irma and Harvey. I'm sending my love to all theses places and more, innocent people shouldn't be going through these Mother Nature devastations. And as for my people in Mexico, Los amo 🇲🇽💕💕
Undocumented Arizona DACA recipient posted about paying her taxes and it went viral
As they say, nothing in life is certain but death and taxes — yes, even if you’re undocumented. On Sunday,
Arizona State University student and undocumented American Belén Sisa posted a selfie with her 1040 tax form in hand to bust the myth that undocumented Americans don’t contribute to the economy.“I cannot receive financial aid from the state or federal government for school, I cannot benefit from unemployment, a reduced health care plan or a retirement fund,” Sisa wrote.
“Wanna tell me again how I should be deported, contribute nothing and only leech off this country while the 1% wealthiest people in this country steal from you every day?” Read more. (3/29/2017 5:20 PM)
