Names I'd choose for Five
Idk if Five would actually like these names but these are just names I see him in
(Some of this stuff might be incorrect and im sorry, thats why I havent posted it. I was supposed to for a really long time but I was too nervous ill be called out on being wrong but I think these are all correct, if not I'm sorry!)
Okay so I think Five would have a hard name. A name thats either hard to spell "how do you spell it?" Or a long one that people always try to shorten but five won't let them, or a name thats extremely rare and no one really heard of it. I like names that have a deep meaning or some from ancient Roman, Greek, and maybe even yiddish. I feel like Five would want a historic name.
Pavlos- it means small, Five smol. (He wouldn't have that and i cant see him with it, but i wanted to mention it because aw)
Icarus- So Icarus is a Greek God myth about a boy and his dad who got trapped in a labyrinth made by another God. The father made wings out of wax for the two to fly out. His father told Icarus, "not to fly too low, or the sea with moisten the wings, but don't go to high or the sun will melt them" but Icarus didnt listen and flew too high, melting his wings and causing him to drown in the sea.
Five would have the name Icarus because, despite what his father said, he time traveled anyway, the two not taking their fathers seriously.
Also the theater that Vanya played in, in season 1, was called Icarus Theater and I see Klaus making jokes about it like "hey you own it?" Or weak teasings like that.
Plus the name is fun to say.
Dionysus or Bacchus- god of wine. This god(s) embodies both the good and evil effects of alcohol. At times he is a jovial partier and patron of music and art, but at other times he is the god of madness and frenzy. Five could suit these names because of his addiction of alcohol and his stress and anger (madness) that he is trying to suppress in the show. I dont like these too much and I dont even know how to say them but they can work.
Augustus- It means "exalted, venerable", derived from Latin augere meaning "to increase". Augustus was the title given to Octavian; the first Roman emperor. He was the adopted son of Julius Caesar who rose to power through a combination of military skill and political prowess. In 26 BC the senate officially gave him the name Augustus, and after his death it was used as a title for subsequent emperors. This was also the name of three kings of Poland. Five could have this name because it means, in other words, respected, which is all Five wants. The name originates from a Roman emperor that was adopted who had a lot of power, Reginald had power because of his money. But mostly having power over his kids by manipulation.
Not my favorite but I still like it. Plus a nickname would be August and I think that's cute.
Rune- Rune is a masculine given name derived from the Old Norse word rún, meaning "secret". It is a common name in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and popular in Belgium, where it ranked in top thirty names for baby boys in 2006 and was the tenth most popular name for boys in 2006 in the Flemish Region of Belgium. I believe the siblings got named when they were five [5] by Grace, so the year and age match up, saying it was most popular at that time. Five keeps lots of secrets, not on purpose, but sometime he doesn't feel the need to say things or keeps them for a reason. He hides his wounds alot too.
Rune is one of my favorites.
Fivel- The name Feivel is a boy's name of Yiddish origin meaning "brilliant one". This comes from Faivish, the Yiddish form of Phoebus, the Greek sun god.
Its a good name but if Five wanted a name, I doubt he would pic one so close to his number, everyone else got their names since they don't want to remember their abusive past and such. (Except luther, he like to rub his number in) Five doesnt have a name because he wants to keep his number, him being the only one not named when cleary the others were (him calling out Ben and Vanyas name when he traveled to the apocalypse).
But its a good name if you were making a AU story where they don't have powers or numbers, his nickname would be Five, referring to his real name.
The onky names I think he would choose and I can see him in is Rune and Icarus.
