âFood? As a gift? Interesting. I was thinking more of a nice watch or necklace and card that say âplease donât contact me againâ, that way she can either keep it and brag to her lower class friends or sell it and make some good cash.â he explained his idea, although it seemed a bit harsh, leaving without a reason seemed way worse. âItâs not technically breaking up, I never made it official with her. From my view it was just sex so it shouldnât be too hard.â he let out a small laugh at her comment about courage, âmore alcohol is the last thing i need, but I can get you one if youâd like.â he offered with a smile.
âAlright, thatâs not a half-bad idea either. But itâs so materialistic, and you donât want to lead her on with a gift that could last, you know? Like, you wouldnât get her jewelry?â Lennox tried, though, she seemed to be vastly out of the loop when it came to upper class relationships and how things should be treated. In fact, it sounded like she shouldnât even be suggesting ideas to the guy. âJust sex? Seriously, you feel like you have to give her a parting gift because you guys slept together a few times?â And now the blond was just making wild assumptions. Her brows lifted before her own smile pulled at her lips. âYou seem to know me so well. I never turn down a drink.â That is, unless she had business to take care of. âGuess I should at least get your name then, huh?âÂ
He was handing someone their drink as he looked at her and then furrowed his eyebrows. âAll in fairness she asked me out for dinner this weekend after that night and I turned her down.â
âGood on you, huh?â Lennox stated, rather proudly. âIf you donât like her, then why even entertain the idea of having a relationship with her. I mean, especially if youâve already fucked her sister.â She laughed cheerily with a tip of her glass of liquor in cheers. âDo you have any other plans this weekend? Say like...a show?â
âLessons on what? The art of desperation and validation inside your local Saks?â he grinned playfully, but decidedly returned the cologne to itâs place. âThis face doesnât require touch ups.â Just thousands of dollars of facials and professional skin care products. âAside from scent critic, what exactly are you? Some kinda makeup artist?â
Lennox was not doing this right now. This man was so full of something that the woman just had to give it back to him. âOf course. Isnât that what you were looking for, or did you really think you could pick up women at the cologne aisle to show how big of a douche you could be. I hear itâs in style this season.â She happily replied. âOh, right. I knew that. You and your flawless skin really just left me so speechless.â Lennox was dramatic in her words before she finally rolled her eyes. âI am a waitress, actually. So, congrats on pegging me first try. And yes, I do work for my tips, just like any decent hard-working American.â Ironically she spouted in her British accent.
âLike a waitress,â Ben answered plainly, not looking at her very hard. Really, heâd come to this particular counter because of her, pretending to pick out a cologne he didnât really need. âYou have a nice face,â he decided. âDefinitely donât need to be at the makeup counter.â Sniffing the cologne suspiciously, he scrunched his nose. âBe honest,â he asked for her opinion, holding the bottle out to her.
The words that came out of the other manâs mouth led Lennox to roll her own eyes, the commentary leaving her rather annoyed. âGee, thanks. That was the look I was going for.â She mouthed off sarcastically, before turning back to her reflection with a bit more primping, hearing the manâs words continue. Her pouted expression glanced in his direction, âIâm here for the touch up sweetheart. Should I give you a few lessons?â Lennox took the bottle, catching a whiff of the cologne, before adding with a pointed glare, âUnless youâre trying to smell like a dirtbag loser, Iâd go for something a little more high dollar.â
It wasnât as if she didnât have time to go home, but Lennox found herself instead at a department store, at the makeup counter no less, looking at herself in the mirror. She tossed her hair slightly as she checked out her reflection, finally satisfied with the way she looked. After a moment, she turned to grab at someoneâs arm, pulling at them lightly to get their attention and their validation. âHow do I look?â
It was the first nice day in what felt like ages and, although Sarah was already resisting the urge to complain about the heat, she was determined to spend it outside. Lugging a bag with her laptop, tablet, sketchbook, magazines, Advil, emergency snacks, and everything else one could possibly need, she set up camp at a table on the outdoor patio of her favorite cafe. Ordering a quick iced coffee, she broke out her computer, dramatically cracking her knuckles in preparation. Researching market trends had been on her to-do list for days, but she could no longer put it off. Before delving into her work she leaned over, tapping the person at the closest table on the shoulder. âSorry to bother you. Do you mind if I ask you a few quick questions for the research Iâm doing? Itâll just take a moment.âÂ
Lennox enjoyed the sunny weather, something a bit different than the frosty New York winters, and taking a spot outside was a must at the cafe she currently sat at, enjoying an afternoon off with a chocolate chip scone and a vanilla iced latte. She easily fell into a rhythm of relaxation, one AirPod placed in her ear as she listened to some tunes, really getting away from the world. The tap on the shoulder dragged her back as she blinked slightly to look over towards the young woman now talking to her. âResearch?â Lennox became quite defensive, her brows pulling slightly together before glancing at the materials the other seemed to have gathered. âWhat sort of questions?â
â weâve been battling a seemingly endless winter, but iâm delighted that the sun scheduled its one appearance the morning that iâm having the come down of all come downs â itâs really appreciated. â
âHey, at least we got the sun now. Thereâs no time like the present anyways, right? Whatâs got you so bogged down then?â Her brows scrunched slightly as she looked to the young woman. âPlus, summerâs on itâs way. Iâm sure youâll be begging for it to cool down once again.â
âquick question for you, what do you get someone as âsorry, its just not going to work outâ gift?â he asked, swirling the amber looking liquid around his glass as he sat at the bar, looking at the person next to him for their answer.
âA box of chocolates, maybe a tub of ice cream to go along with it.â Lennox started with a sheepish grin as her glanced bounced from the otherâs glass to the young man himself. âYouâre breaking up with someone tonight? You might need a bit more liquid courage, huh?â She gestured slightly to his glass with her hand.
Izzy sauntered her way into Soho House without bothering to look around first before she claimed the corner stool at the long wooden bar and set her Louis Vuitton duffle bag on the stool next to her, somewhat precariously perched. Her feet were sore from a day of rehearsal and her long locks were still pulled back in that telltale bun of hers. She needed to unwind. âJust a soda water with lemon and lime, please.â She exhaled in a soft, airy voice while her elbow found a resting place on the bar.Â
âNothing stronger?â Lennox looked over towards the sophisticated looking woman. She was particularly fond of the tight bun that held her hair back. Glancing back to her own club soda, she wasnât judging the other woman, seeing as she had the same order, but it did surprise. âSorry, you just look like youâve earned something stronger. Rough day?â
âMy favorite interaction ever is always going to be the time some chick came up to me at my job and said my face was stupid. I think she found out I hooked up with her sister like the day after I hooked up with her.â
Lennox looked to the man, rolling her eyes at the statement, adding with a bit of chuckle. âSome people just donât understand that sex doesnât define a relationship.â She was well-versed in the matter, and still wanted to remain single. âWeâre too obsessed with the idea of partnership that we lose sight of what makes us happy, you know?â
hi hi, howdy, howdy, hi, hi.  iâm ashlee or ash or honestly whatever you want to call me. iâm 23 years old. graduating from my masterâs program in 9 days (holy shit!!) and iâm in l o v e with this rp already. i just finished reading everyoneâs posted intros and need connections with every single character. theyâre all so unique and i want to interact with every single person! anyways, enough about me, lennox is the real deal (lol). if you want me to message you, like this. or you can message me first. iâm v awkward at first, but i swear, the more we talk, the weirder iâll become. anyways, if you have discord add me there too ( Ashlee#2624 ). anyways letâs get this intro post out of the way.
( billie piper | cisfemale | she/her ) Manhattanâs Upper East Side is home to many. It seems ( LENNOX HOWE ) has found ( her ) way here. The ( 29 ) year old can be a bit ( SHALLOW ), but also ( ORGANIZED ). You can find them working as a ( WAITRESS ) during the day. Though, who knows what at night. When I think of ( her ), I think of ( FRESH LINENS, LATE NIGHTS, ROOFTOP STARGAZING, FOGGY MORNINGS). { ash | 23 | cst | she/her }
so lennox is originally from london, and she lived there until she was 21-ish. her family is pretty basic af; mom, dad, older sister (who is way more successful than her).
she moved to nyc after leaving london because of several reasons: the expectations her parents had on her, the pressure to follow in her sisterâs footsteps, to get away from âposhâ society, which ironically enough is what sheâs gotten into in nyc.
speaking of falling into the high society of nyc, itâs only because of her connections. sheâs a v sociable person, makes lots of connections and manipulates people into giving her the things she wants for the most part. she is very selfish too, which winds up making her look very materialistic and shallow.
while working as a waitress to make ends meet isnât necessarily ideal (shh, donât tell her parents) she makes it work, and thatâs what she tells everyone. she is surprisingly well paid. she does work at a 5-star restaurant, and the opportunity sort of fell into her lap, and while the job itself doesnât pay for all of her expenses, she has other means of paying for things, it is a start, or so she tells people.
so in conclusion, sheâs a waitress, can afford everything in her life (which obviously is in direct relation to her secret), and she lies to people about it all, because while she desperately hates when other people judge, sheâs so afraid of what people would think of her if they knew the real her, aka why she has a secret in the first place.
OOC:
iâve got lots of wanted connections, and honestly, thereâs a few that could be directly related to her secret, so hit me up if that interests you, because iâm sure we could work some arrangement out.
iâve also got kind of a questionnaire filled out on her about page.
if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, PLEASE MESSAGE ME. i want friends and connections and plots and everything for lennox and all your characters! i promise i donât bite <3
