𝑫𝑼𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑺𝑺 𝑳𝑬𝑿𝑰𝑨 𝑳𝑬𝑶𝑵𝑬𝑳𝑳𝑰 of genoa, formerly of iilyria, mother of one son.
the sky shone so brightly on the night of lexia’s birth that her father insisted that the little blonde bundle must’ve inherited her hair from the stars and her smile from the moon. a nobleman’s only daughter and final child, little sister to four brothers, the offspring of the only wife he ever truly loved.
the handmaidens always remarked that the babe was the least troublesome they’d ever had to attend to, a rare cry when she was hurt or upset, but she was almost never upset. what is there to be upset about when the world is practically at your feet ?
lexia’s father held a lot of respect in the high societies of illyria, specifically in bavaria, the dukedom they were the closest to. she grew up playing with the children of the other rich noblemen, making snow angels and little snow-people, if only because no one wanted to throw snowballs at little lex, whose laugh filled every hall she stepped into
her mother raised her to be the perfect little lady, teaching her to sew, play piano, read poetry, anything one could do in the house as iilyria wasn’t exactly the right setting for outdoor activities. her mother was also incredibly kind of heart, teaching lex that philanthropy was just as important as being a proper lady. the two of them often spent time knitting blankets for poorer families and donating food & old clothes to the less fortunate
her mother always implemented the importance of intelligence in her as well, teaching her to think critically and for herself. it worked well in her favor, as she could crack a clever joke or witty remark in big crowds. it’s also nice when people expect her to be less intelligent due to her beauty and she gets to surprise them
never able to resist her doe eyes, her brothers would allow her to accompany them when they trained with swords and the such. she took a liking to archery, getting a kick out of hitting the center of the target in practice but never taking it beyond the realm of their courtyard
at nineteen, after three years of rejecting offers of marriage, she gave in to the offer from the duke of genoa. it was a long way from home and her family but a new adventure for herself, an opportunity to spread her wings a bit, and so she was married at twenty & moved to gydina.
seven years later, she has a young boy of barely four years and a happy life in genoa. she tries to visit iilyria as often as possible but is typically happy to receive her family as visitors in her new manor. she’s still the kindhearted girl she’s always been, teaching that to her son as well, and still loves to crack jokes with others.
however, she inherited her mother’s rash mind, always doing things before thinking ( hence, the various small scars she has on her legs from playing as a child ) and it’s a trait that has followed her into adulthood. sometimes she simply doesn’t know when to shut up. beyond that, once she’s made up her mind, there’s no changing it. she’d rather be wrong and set in her wrongness than ever admit it. she doesn’t like to argue with people but once she’s in an argument, lex will do her best to win it.
