Fortitude // Emma & Flynn
She listened as the man spoke before shaking her head with a sheepish smile, âIâm afraid not. I only know where my home is in relation to Crystal Blue and thatâs only because I started off there.â She tilted her head in his direction, âHave you been here long, then? If you know all these street names?â
For a brief moment, he considered going along with her assumption, but he was giving the truth a shot these days. It was a new process for him, to say the least. He shrugged and shook his head, realizing halfway through that neither would help him communicate with the woman. "Nah, I'm actually a bit of a newcomer myself. Only been here about a month, really. I was just walking around earlier today and noticed the street signs at the intersection. Perks of a good memory," he joked, taking the opportunity to get a good look at her. It's not like she would notice, and besides, she was beautiful. A small lie wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, he thought as he stood up. "Would you like to walk with me? I was just heading back that way, and I could use the company."
