“Oh, you do have a good point, I remember well how was hard for me in the beginnin’, I almost threw up every time, now I’m used ta it though, but if I wasn’t, then this job wouldn’t be for me” after years working as a cop, was expected for him to get used. “You also have bad memories on your hometown?”

“Yeah, I had a little advantage when I began.” She laughs. “Some great, some not so great. I guess it happens. But I’m guessing you had worse than not so great?”

“Yeah, I can understand that, but can’t say I would want ta grow up smellin’ it”  he let out a laugh. “Bad memories”

“Well I don’t think anyone wants to grow up with that. But it sure helps your tolerance, and totally helps in our line of work. When I first started doing like the field work and dealing with body goop, All my classmates turned green and hurled. I just dived right in.” She nods. “I understand that.”

She nods. “When you grow up smelling decomp, nothing really ever bothers you.” She laughs. “Why have you been avoiding going home?”

“Ohhhh, that explains, didn’t you get scared when you were a kid tough?” he knew that he would be if he was in her place. “It is, you should visit there if you ever have the opportunity”

“Not really, It was how I grew up. It was never a fear of mine.” She smiles softly. “Maybe if I make plans, I can call you and you can join me,  show me around.”

“Wait, what? You lived in a morgue?” he asked, a little confused if she actually meant a morgue, where the dead bodies stayed, or if she meant something else. “I liked it a lot, I had a really great childhood, it was also a very beautiful place”

“No, but my mom’s a Medical Examiner. She performs autopsies and such so I spent a lot of time there.” She laughs, some people got confused. “It sounds beautiful actually.” She smiles

“Suspension of your license, a fine, community service and possible jail time, a record."

Shea nodded and stood up. 

She gets up and follows him. “Okay, so, what shall we do?”

          “how serious do you think the whole underaged drinking rule is?” he ponders, his head tilting. “i mean, c’mon, they can’t get me that bad if i’m going to be of age in less than a month.”

“Yes they can. Don’t be stupid kid.”

“Oh, nice, how was livin’ and growin’ up there?” he haven’t heard many things about it, so he didn’t know anything about it. “I was born and raised in Wales, but moved ‘ere a little ago”

“I loved it. I mean I grew up a die-hard Red Sox fan because both my mother and my grandfather are. It’s a city. Though I grew up in a morgue most of my life.” She smiles. “Oh wow. That sounds beautiful. How did you like it?”

“Me? Busy? I don’t think that there’s any such thing.” Shea chuckled. 

“Well then lets clock out and do something!”

Ryan skips in to find her brother at his desk. “Hey, so, you busy today?” She asks, sitting on it. Because I just kinda wanna go sledding. I found a great hill that we can just zoooooooom down.”

“So it’s like a family business? My dad was a cop too, that’s why I grew up lovin’ the profession” he said with a small smile. “Did you always live ‘ere or you were born in another city or country?”

“Yeah, exactly.” She nods. “I completely get that. Uh Yeah actually, I was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts, but my dad is from Wisconsin. What about you?”

“Me?” She sits down. “Nothing really about me. Uhm, police work is in my blood. My dad’s a detective, my mom’s an ME. Both of my grandfathers were detectives. My brother’s a sketch artist for the department.”
