For World AIDS Day, we remember those we lost and recommit to fighting for those who are still living. Remember not only the cis/straight/white/male/rich/western/etc who have died due to complications of HIV/aids, but also those not on the quilt, those who were not remembered. Mourn the sex workers, the trans women, those who died on the streets, those who died deep in addiction, those who died alone. Mourn the activists, the friends, the brothers. Mourn the forgotten, the ones who had no one to care for them, those who live in places where medicine isnāt accessible, where HIV has such a social stigma that they canāt even try to get medicine.
Fight for the living! Be mad at the government, at Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Margaret Thatcher, be mad at society as a whole. The US government ignored the AIDS crisis, but the US government isnāt the only government to be mad at. Be mad that we lost a whole generation of LGBT people because of our governments, be mad for their families, their friends. Be mad that so many people are still dying, globally.
Today is a day to be mad, to mourn, to curse the government, to curse Ronald Reagan. Keep this history alive. Remember the dead, but fight like hell for the living.
I'm sorry that I've been so inactive recently... I've been stressed out with homework and family and this past week someone I knew died. I'm going to try to set up a queue so my blog isn't vacant. Send asks if you have any questions! Lots of love ā¤

Replying to a charge that he might be trying to ride into the U.S. Senate on the coattails of his brother, the late President John Kennedy, the former Attorney General said, āIāll stand on the record I made and record that this administration has made.ā
