I know this is a long shot, but I figured I’d post it anyways. This weekend I canceled my BukuFest plans and I’m participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This is something that is very important to me because of my past year experience with my mother having cancer. Some of you have been following her amazing story, but I know most of you don’t even know who I am. I’m not asking for much, if you can’t donate, reblog and spread the word. Even $1 goes a long way. My mother has benefited from this society in many ways, one way including a free wig! Many people don’t realize this but that’s actually a big deal. Quality wigs are not cheap, and these cancer patients going through chemo therapy lose more than just their hair, they lose their confidence and self esteem. Without those two VERY important quialities, they can’t survive. They start losing hope as well. I know it’s “just hair”, but it starts to wear on them. First it’s their hair, then their weight, then their breasts! Parts of their body!!! This society offers free prosthetics! BREAST PROSTHETICS! These women can walk around with a comfortable prosthetic bra on instead of an empty cup or a stuffed bra! Seriously you guys, I cannot Express enough how much this society can help a cancer patient/survivor. Like I said, if you can’t donate, please reblog and share my message.
