Couldn't be more English this 14c house was in ideal weather conditions and a beautiful setting. Tried to compose this from a distance and to capture the brilliant colours

LadyBower Reservoir Peak District #dailyshoot on Flickr.
Taken at the head of Derwent water in the Peak District National Park I always like these kind of compositions with the stream as the lead in and framing provided by the trees and the horizon.
Robe Obelisk South Australia #dailyshoot on Flickr.
Taken on a windy day in Robe South Australia and loved the contrast in colours between the obelisk and the blue skies
St Pierre Chepstow old walled up doors #dailyshoot # on Flickr.
Part of a Marriot Hotel now but was a medieval manor house. These two doors intrigued me therefore. As an image though loved the texture and the play on colours. Tricky to get the composition right though as they were not symetrical
Salisbury Cathedral # dailyshoot on Flickr.
Part of a group of shots taken at Salisbury Cathedral Wiltshire UK. The tree branches allowed me to fill the dead space around the building and made for a better composition. Good combination of colours too on a grey cold winters day.

Sierra Aitana Cherry Blossom #dailyshoot #Spain on Flickr.
On the way back down from the trek in the high sierra of Spain I came across this olive grove in blossom. The challenge was to try and capture the magnificent colours whilst still showing the scale and grandeur of the mountain scenery. Took some time over the composition and then set my camera to capture the depth of field. Also used the timer to eliminate camera shake. Cropped slightly for composition and colour enhanced for pink.
Cherry blossom Cottage Sierra Aitana #dailyshoot #Spain on Flickr.
My first shot on the way up the Sierra Aitana and a summit that was 1500m high, found it hard to believe that this farmers cottage would be fenced off. Liked the patterns and shapes of the old olve tress and the contradictory colours of the cherry blossom. A bit too central for my taste but couldnt really crop it off centre. Like the image though.
Salisbury Cathedral Font #dailyshoot # reflection on Flickr.
Part of a group of shots taken at Salisbury Cathedral Wiltshire UK. The amazing font is set up so that the roof and ceiling are visible in the reflections in the water. A great effect which shows some dazzling colours.
Torrevieja contrast #dailyshoot #monochrome #Spain on Flickr.
Loved the contrast on this shot taken in very bright reflected light. The shapes and patterns add to the effect. Taken with a tripod and fast SS to add to the sharpness. Taken in Torrevieja Spain.

Benidorm High Rise #dailyshoot #Benidorm #Spain on Flickr.
Overlooking Benidorm in Spain its easy to look beyond the standard tourist shots. Looked at the repeating patterns and saw monochrome high contrast image
From the Tit at Calpe #dailyshoot #calpe #spain on Flickr.
Climbing on the rock face overlooking Calpe Spain was able to get this shot which framed itself. Also having spent the last six weeks in a UK grey winter was very pleased with the colours!
Birmingham Bullring Carpark #dailyshoot #Birmingham on Flickr.
One of three shots that I took on a visit to Birmingham bullring UK. Very bright sunlight and sub zero temperatures. Lot of sunlight glare on this building so exposed for the sky which left the person peering up in silhouette.

Dailyshoot 2013~vertical lines ~trees to the sky! on Flickr.
Last part of the three I took with vertical lines in mind, the idea for the shot isnt mine, and had seen this done many times but didnt realise how difficult it was to get right, because you are in the darkness of the woods and shooting straight into the bright sky
Adelaide Gaol #dailyshoot on Flickr.
Sometimes you take a shot that you really like and no one else does, and it seems this may be one of them. "A" wing at the now closed Adelaide Goal and empty cells seemed to tell so many stories. Kept the really bright light of the open door at the end as this seemed to be symbolic. Also converted to monochrome and kept the dark secretive corners in with contrasts. The image is slightly off balance but the floor and the ceiling were slightly off kilter too. No tripod and switched off my flash too which gave me a few problems. Second version of this shot after suggestions of editting. taken at the Old Gaol Adelaide
