Dance Reel of me performing several choreographer's work.
Leslie St Jour-Dance Bio
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and began dancing in junior high school. I attended New World School of the Arts under the direction of Daniel Lewis. While at New World, I performed repertory works such as Martha Graham's Diversion of Angels & Acts of Light, and George Balanchine's Valse Fantasie. I also had the opportunity to attend Dance Theater of Harlem's summer intensive twice in 2006 & 2007. I recently graduated from New York University as a student in the Tisch School of the Arts. While obtaining a dual degree in Dance & Africana Studies I performed faculty works by Renee Redding-Jones and James Sutton. I also had the opportunity to study in Salzburg, Austria at SEAD-Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, receiving instruction from dancers of Les SlovaKs. Most recently I performed works by Sean Curran and Azure Barton as a member of NYU's Second Avenue Dance Company.
As a dance teacher and choreographer I have been choreographing since the age of 13 and currently I teach ballet to ages 5-14. I have performed with Simone Sobers Dance and Classiscal Contemporary Ballet Theater and I am excited to be joining RG Dance Projects this season!
I am grateful for the many opportunities that I've had and look forward to all that awaits !
Hello Tumblr world! This is how I've been feeling for the past couple of days...Hopefully that will change soon! Starting this blog to pretty much share my art (dance), creativity, and anything else I find relevant/interesting.
