This is an Independent role-play blog for Queen Leah from Sleeping Beauty. Leah was a princess born in a quaint and quiet little Kingdom in France. She was engaged to be married quite early into her childhood to Stefan, a prince a little older than her from a Kingdom in Germany. When of age Leah and Stefan married. Although there were years that they were unable to have children - Leah ultimately conceived and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Aurora. Their troubles weren't over yet, though...
ooc; busy having spent till the utter last minute to wrap christmas presents, and I've been on my merida blog - but once things have calmed down over christmas (probably before) I'll come back properly. =w=
Sorry, I know that I come and go with this blog, but it's mostly because I sorta didn't have a reason to be here when those other Leahs popped up? I'll try and be more active from now on! :) x
out: I owe ezlanyqueen , vinterdrxnning and a starter to extraordinarymelody -- I am just going to jump onto another blog and try and salvage what is left of it before I write those replies and starter. Thank you for your patience when I was unwell.
Aurora bit her lip, lowering her gaze to avoid the Queen’s one. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust her, of course not! Her mother was one of the most important persons in her life, and their relationship could easily be described as perfect. When Aurora had trouble, needed advice, or wanted to ask a simple question; she went to her. But, there was something that made her uncomfortable when talking about her Godmother.
Being raised by her while she lived on The Moors, loving her as much as a maternal figure, admiring her… And then going back to The Royal Kingdom with her actual birth mother Now it was kind of weird to go out with Maleficent.
❝…It’s just a flight. We did it all the time back on The Moors and never got hurt! My Godmother would never allow that, she protects me at all costs, and besides, I really want to see the stars up close today.❞
“That may very well be the case, dear, but you have to
understand that I don’t want anything to happen to you.”
Leah often felt like she didn’t know her own daughter. She had spent most of Aurora’s life fearing for what would occur the fateful day. She didn’t want to lose her, and for her own safety didn’t get to see her or be around her. She would look to her godmother as her maternal figure and it made the bond difficult. They were getting there, but still she often felt overshadowed.
“Can’t you just look from the astronomy tower? They are just as beautiful.” The Queen would have even offered to go with her, they could have packed a light picnic and just watched the stars and talk to each other. Leah had often spent time in the astronomy tower back at the castle back in France. Her mother was often busy with her younger sisters and Leah would get lessons from her father. She would often sit in with his lessons with her brother just so that she felt close to them both.
“If it means that much to you,
I suppose I may think upon it.”
She still had a very difficult time in saying no to Aurora. It seemed that she didn’t want to do anything that could hinder their bond. Leah just hoped that eventually she would be able to get Aurora interested in some of the things that she did throughout her day. They would never be as exciting as flying but Aurora was a princess. She would one day be in her position, if marriage settled right. That and she doubted that she and Stefan would be blessed with a son to become the crown prince.
"Excellent," he said as he flashed her another charming smile. He was more than willing to push off doing his work to spend some time with Leah. After spending so much time away from her, Stefan thought it was more than reasonable for him to do that. The kingdom could wait one day and night for their king at the very least.
"Yes thank you." He watched her for a moment before he went over to the sitting area within his chambers and sat down. "Did anything else happen during your visit?" Talk about the baby was off limits, or so he thought, and would rather hear about other things that happened while she visited her sister. Stefan figured that other things must have happened that Leah wouldn’t mind talking about.
The Queen followed swiftly after her husband and took rest across from him. She normally would have lunch in her own chambers – or they would eat together in the main eating area – so this was a nice and welcomed change. That was especially so as the only time she tended to be in Stefan’s royal chambers was when they were making love.
“Nothing exciting, I’m afraid, my Love.” She replied as she moved her hand to the table and then edged her fingers over to his to take grasp. “My sister and I barely spent any time together because she was in labour and when the child was born you could imagine she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. I did get to have a proper conversation with my brother-in-law, though. He is thinking of coming to court sometime in the future to join in on one of your hunts. He seemed excited.”
"A bit of both, i suppose." Maleficent replied. The thruth was that she was only passing by and has decided to appear into the castle, maybe hopping to find prince Philip or Princess Aurora. After all, she had unfinished business with both. However finding the queen was unexpected but not umpleasant, there were other ways to deal with enemies than by threatening them or by mere brute steengh. “After all, it has been some time since I came into thesw very walls, won’t you agree?”
Wonderful.
The Queen was on edge, which was something you could understand, given the woman before her was the one that had cursed her beloved daughter. “Yes, I believe so,” Leah replied as she gave the dark haired fairy her acknowledgement, “Yet it seems you always make an appearance uninvited.” Yes, that was perhaps a bit of an icy cold tone from the blonde but she was having trouble keeping from calling the guards.
Pausing sharply in his movements, the creature quickly retracted his heavy blades from the untrimmed plant-life, doe-eyes ample upon his countenance whilst his breath hitches sharply upon being addressed.
It takes him an extensive moment to respond, and his reply is brief.

“It’s alright,” She replied as she looked at the poor boy who seemed to be like a deer caught in the headlights. Leah had merely found her breath caught in her throat because the idea of coming across her beloved rose bushes in any state would be a great shame. Although they most likely did need a trim and she would have to call a gardener to do it because she doubted she would have time – and she had a horrible green thumb.
Leah made her way towards the rose bushes and the man she had stopped from sheering at them. Her blue eyes caught what he was attempting to use to cut the bushes with and her breath caught in her throat again as she saw the blades. She bit her lower lip and kept her stance tall and exhaled. “Are you okay?” The mother questioned, unsure how to take the fact this man seemed to have blades in the place of his hands.
“L e a h, Le-ah, Leah, Leah. There. Is that any better?” he laughed, patting the back of her hand upon his arm as he moved, with no hurry in his step, to where she waved. “You’ve reminded meee, let’s see. Perhaps a thousand times. Make this one a thousand and one more. I’m bound to get it right sooner or later, I think. Can your famous wealth of patience handle that?”
“Well then for the one thousand and s e c o n d time – it is Leah, my boy. And, I shall keep reminding you because my patience knows no bounds.” The Queen gave a characteristically small laugh, not wanting the snort that normally comes out of a laughing spout to fill the room. Sitting before Phillip she waited for him to join her.
It also wasn’t long for a maid to come bounding through to the room with a lemon cake, cut prepared for the Queen and her guest, and a pot of tea brewed to its finest. Leah was normally found with some tea by her side, it was one of her favourite beverages. “Help yourself,” She nodded her head as she reached forward and took hold of the pot after dismissing the maid and began to pour both of the china cups with the tea.
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
Yet I know it’s true that visions are seldom all they seem…
