I want less becoming a vampire makes you a monster and more becoming a vampire means you can't lie to yourself anymore.

There's no magic switch that flips when you become a vampire that suddenly makes you okay with murder - if there was then there wouldn't be reluctant vampires or moral angst. The mere fact that characters can and do bemoan the fact that their cursed blood made them monsters proves that it didn't.

Because power doesn't corrupt, it reveals.

Look, I can sit here all day and claim that I would never use mind control to get my own way, but unless I suddenly gain mind control it will remain an untested theory. And if I did suddenly get powers and started mind controlling everyone? That wouldn't be the power's fault. It would be my fault.

And honestly, that's a much more interesting story.

So I would like to see less vampires blaming their bad actions on being a vampire and more vampires realizing that they've only been given the power to do the things they would have done as a human if only they could.
