Do you ever do that thing where you see a character that you just don't mesh with and you think the writing choices were weird and they don't really give you enough of anything to like and they you decide that you need to figure out some sort of motive for them to make them the way they are and flesh out an otherwise two-dimensional character and suddenly you love them? My beloved weird dogman, Wuef Johannsen. If you met him, you'd learn that he's not simply an outdoorsman, but a poet, a musician, a real model citizen.... and he can only speak in the wild, chaotic cries of a Husky. Another Mermay! I thought I was drawing a pufferfish, but apparently the ones with the pronounced spines are porcupine fish. You learn something new every day! Not this mermaid though, their head is empty.
