Something about cleaning my room brings me back to a happier time. It’s so much quieter in the calm
“I’m rested and I’m ready, I’m rested and I’m ready to begin.”
— The Avett Brothers | February Seven
Sometimes I think I’m happy
Then someone reminds me that they don’t care
And that someone is usually the one person I needed
2019 is the year I’m gonna punch all my problems one by one. Will they fight back? Probably. But, I’m willing to keep the fight going until one of us is dead.
More like 2020 but yeah
“Find what’s beautiful and hold on tight”
I think I lost happiness as a child
Not on purpose
It was more I let go of it’s hand
To chase a butterfly
Only to look up and see it gone
It might have been when my dad didn’t come home
Or when my mom didn’t want me
Or it might have been a random day
Sometime in July
When no one wished me Happy Birthday
I looked for Happiness
In my family and my friends
I thought I might have seen it sometime
In the eyes of my cat or the new snow
These glimpses weren’t enough
Not when I needed hope
I found it briefly as a teenager
In True Friends and freedom
But it couldn’t stay
Happiness was just a visitor
And I had to let it leave
I’ve been looking for happy.
Most of my life
It was no longer in my father
Time had stolen it from him
It had left my friends as we lost touch
And I couldn’t see
The light that had once shone
Now I’ve been left
With happy for so long
I can’t even remember the feeling
Someone tells me what it feels like
How I can get it back
But the words are more like a foreign language
Than directions that could help
I’m still searching for happiness
I hope to find it soon
And this time
With friends and support
I’ll finally make it stay
I don’t know where my happy goes
All I can do is enjoy it while it is here
Bad days are going to happen
They can’t be avoided completely
But how we react to the bad days
Shows how much we’ve recovered
Imagine: You’re home. All the chores have been done and all of your bills have been paid. You had enough money to treat yourself to something nice and to put money into savings. You had a delicious dinner and you’re in your comfiest pajamas, without a care in your mind
daily affirmation: my body is healing. my mind is healing. my heart is healing. i release any old habits, thoughts, and words that are not for my highest good. i openly welcome love, good luck, abundance, good health, and peace of mind into my life because i deserve it. i am worthy.
I found positivity in how nice a made bed is
In the snores of a tired dog
The softness of a favorite sweater
Fresh falling snow
And hot cocoa with a secret ingredient
There was no extra effort needed
Just being in the moment was enough
For positivity to find me
A Concept: You’re sitting in your bed. Your room is freshly cleaned and your sheets are still warm from the dryer. The area is illuminated by soft yellow fairy lights and out your window you see fresh fallen snow glowing blue under the moonlight. Your pet lays next to you and you sip hot chocolate as soft music plays. Vanilla wafts through your room from a flickering candle near your bed and you feel true contentment and happiness
