I don't really post many personal things here, but this is Bubba. You guys didn't know him. He was my beloved cat… my little guy. But the irony is that he wasn't little. He was more like a miniature lion, a big flame-point domestic longhair mix at over 17 pounds and nearly 20 inches long. In April of 2012, I found him when he was 6 weeks old. Just a little stray, abandoned fuzzball I never thought would get so big. And somehow, it feels like life brought him full circle… beginning in April, and returning to April again this year. But after 14 precious years, I had to say goodbye to him today…

I've been quiet this past week because he wasn't doing well and needed a lot of care. I spent as much time with him as I possibly could, just staying close to him, so making the decision to say goodbye was extremely heartbreaking.

I miss him so much already… more than I can put into words right now. Nothing feels okay in this moment. He meant everything to me and now it feels like a massive hole in my heart. I may need more time before I return here with more posts but I want Bubba's memory to live on in some way, even if small.

Thank you for 14 beautiful years. I love you so very much, my little guy. You will always be the high five I reach for in my heart. 🐾

Grim - OC Blender WIP

Finally bringing more OCs into Blender. Here's Grim, an OC from City of Chaos. I'm currently working on placing a tribal barbed wire tattoo on his neck.

The bottom images were built in XNALara. The character has undergone some retcons over the months. These earlier versions portrayed him as a commanding officer, which was later scrapped.

Grim is a meshmod using Dante (face) from Devil May Cry 5 and Nicholai Ginovaef (hair) from Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Well, Spitfire Audio is migrating its LABS library over to Splice INSTRUMENT and is no longer offering new LABS subscriptions. They've directed me toward Splice instead for the same price.

I tried subscribing to Splice INSTRUMENT earlier this month, but I couldn't get the payment or billing setup to go through. Nothing on my end seems blocked, but it still wouldn't process. I've also seen similar reports from other musicians, though support experiences seem pretty inconsistent depending on who you ask.

At this point, I'm not sure I want to push further with it, especially with mixed experiences from long-term users.

So, it looks like I'll be hunting for an alternative plugin setup while I finish off the projects that still rely on LABS+ instruments. Thankfully, they are allowing us to continue using LABS+ instruments in unfinished projects even without a subscription. Riposa in pace. 🕯️
