"Pride is not a party"
Yes the fuck it is, stop being a baby
Yes pride is a riot and a fight and yadda yadda yadda but you are not revolutionary for sucking the joy out of queerness. Sometimes, pride is a party. It is a celebration of the fact that we are here, we're queer, and we're not going anywhere. And that is just as important as throwing bricks and fighting cops, actually.
If your activism doesn't allow you to enjoy the fruits of your labors you will burn out babe. Go suck some dick. Hit on that lesbian. Get the faggy haircut!!! Dance, for the love of god.

Huh... Some people truly do come into my life for a reason yeah? Whatever the other reasons may be, I'm so thankful to gorgeous classmate for helping me realize I do have to update some of the ideas I have about myself, who I am, and my purposes here, and also start cultivating some of the resources for what I am building for myself and those that I serve.
Like I know I've been in this state of transition and evolution for a while now. And I've had some ideas about how long it might last, but I'm starting to finally understand the purpose and starting to see a glimpse of the ending now. And it's beautiful. I'm going to continue to focus on the journey itself, like I have been because while the destination matters, it's not the only thing or even possibly the most important part of it all.
It's funny how you can want something so badly for so long that you will try and try to make it work and life will come along and show you just how much you don't want or need that very thing you thought you did. And deep down you knew. Smh. You knew.
Life is so interesting and I'm just so grateful to be here. 🤷🏾♀️

“The widely circulated timeline created by @Zerflin does a great job in showing how recently slavery & segregation occurred & that they lasted longer than the modern era.
“I'd like to offer this timeline as another way of viewing the same period of history to show the constancy of both Black resistance in US & efforts of the white power structure to maintain racial caste since 1619.”

This second picture is MUCH more accurate!
I had the exact same experience the second time I looked at this picture as the first time. I was looking like "what is this green line? Like suddenly everything is OK? It's not. Racists are still trying to push us back to 1619. Nothing has been fixed. We still need to fight. Hard!
