William and Michael's relationship but instead of them being sworn enemies or always having hated eachother they're so irrevocably close. It's so dysfunctional but what's new. They're opposites, but mainly in choice. But they're cut from the same cloth, they're still two hemispheres of a brain, with that nerve highway cut. there's no-one in the world who'd understand it like you, for better or so much worse. And they both don't know what to think. it hurts in spot that they don't know how to deal with, like getting your heart squeezed when it's been buried in your body for your whole life. ESPECIALLY for William. William Afton is still a human being, and that makes his actions all the more fucked. He's not incapable of loving anyone, he's smart, he knows what he's doing. And does it anyway. He loves Michael, he sees himself in Michael, and he hurts him. Whatever's left of William, after 30 years stuck in perpetual agony and embracing being a monster to bury his endless fear of mortality, everything that made him a person. Because under all that power he wants is a man who is terrified. He's unmovable, brilliant, a man who could put his money where his mouth is, and ultimately a coward. Because when faced with fear, he instantly shoots to regain his footing. When faced with the faces of his victims he darts to the one thing that gives him back the control and power he sits on like a throne in the sky. He cannot be anything but unmovable, and neither can his family. They are extensions, and by god they are his. And the one person in the whole world who sees it, sees him as both the unmovable man and the terrified coward is Michael, he knows it like it's his. And Mike resigns himself to it, he did a long time ago, rot knows rot. A part of him can never stop looking at his father as his father. As the man who could do anything, fix anything, who'd always knew what to do, and who'd always come back and fix him. He'd never rescue him, but he'd fix him. And that was love to Michael. That was what he sees as love, what all the Afton children see as love. They'll never rescue you, but they'll fix you. He's the only one in the world who could see everything and would still love him. He was the only would who could count and place where every artery in Michael's heart was, because he made it himself. But after so long Michael could vice versa, he was made to. Every ounce of Michael was branded with William's signature. And it's funny how his fate was to be hollowed out and filled with what Henry dubbed "Afton's Amalgamation". William drilled it into his head. There's no world he can exist outside of William, and he doesn't think he wants to. it's his birthright. Michael, after 30 years, could still see the human behind everything in William. After years of being his "Partner in crime" he knew him better than Henry ever had. Than anyone had. They both don't know how to feel about it. They don't hate it, they don't know if they can. But they don't like it either. Do you think Springtrap was the one who dragged Michael out of the FNAF 3 fire? Michael would've absolutely stayed, especially since he had no reason to believe there'd be anything else left for him to do. He said it himself, there was only one thing left for him to do and it was to find William. And judging from how quickly he passes out due to heat in Pizza Sim, there's no goddamn way he wouldn't pass the fuck out in FNAF 3. "Bittersweet but fitting" said with zero smile in his voice, he genuinely doesn't know how to feel. Every other voice line of his you can hear the grin, his mocking tone. Except that one. It's been years stuck in that suit as a ghost, there's no doubt his mental state has deteriorated beyond repair, but he still doesn't know how to feel. And he sees him, his own face burning away in a fire. His visage melting away and in panic, he pulls him out. Drags him away like he did in '83. Pulling his face to his shirt trying to ignore the stench of iron and cerebrospinal fluid. He knows why he did, he always does. It's the same fear that stuck him here.
