i just think dabi could be an incredible trans girl. I think if your entire life revolves around one person, every emotion you feel is an extension of the love and hatred you feel for him, it stands to reason that you would have no real model of femininity? just the paragon of hypermasculinity that is Endeavor, versus anything else being Not Enough. Dabi isn't feminine, he's not masculine enough, not measuring up to his father the way his brothers do because his body is physically stunted (hello mr autoimmune disease and probably deeply malnourished.)

So after the war, when dabi has done enough physical therapy and DBT to actually start forming their own identity, I think they could find a really meaningful comfort in claiming femininity as an aspect of themself that they couldn't even conceive of before!! So when they start a life that doesn't begin and end with obsessive revenge, there's a lot of room to find themself in the reflection of the women that are still there for him (fuyumi, rei) and the women that stood and died by his side (magne, toga). His mother is gentle and brave, his sister is loyal and affectionate, all things that they never had the opportunity to choose. Loyalty and bravery are necessity, gentleness and affection have no place for the a-rank villain dabi.

magne and toga too r super meaningful because of their respective relationships to femininity. Magne is tricky bc she's a transmisogynistic caricature on a narrative level but the power of choosing femininity and womanhood and still being defiant and powerful and, like dabi, emotional and vengeful towards the world that wronged her. Himiko is joyful and unapologetic in her femininity the same way she is with every other part of herself and I think that would be really meaningful as a message to dabi that their femininity shouldn't be diminished if the rest of themself is proud and undeniable.

and the people around them support them so hard. fuyumi is overjoyed to have a sister and her older sibling back at all, and rei takes the time to raise her daughter the way she never could when touya was small. they heal from their trauma together... I think abt dabi a normal amount I love them

#transfem dabi is So real to me #i do love and see transmasc dabi but transfem dabi feels actively plausible to me on a narratively consequential level #or transfem touya specifically in this case which is beautiful. getting to have a holistic and meaningful Identity as touya #and finding camaraderie and validation in himiko's memory 🥺#i wonder how a touya prevented from acting on her suicidal ideation and in the wake of forming an identity distinct from endeavour would #retrospectively view the league. oh that makes me sad. enji can help atone to his daughter by pulling strings for her to see compress and #spinner. or better yet getting them out too. at least out of a prison literally named for hell
