In the latest episode of Fan Service, without even really saying it directly Yssa summed up the headcanons problem in RWBY, people come up with their own ideas through fanfics and during hiatus’, becoming so entrenched in and attached to their headcanons that they think these are what the show is supposed to do or is obligated to do, and then when the show doesn’t align with their headcanon they get mad at the show for not doing such and claim that its “bad writing”

i don’t think I’d day it’s worse than any other show despite it all. V*ltron crew, even before the controversies, had to deal w a lot of bs thrown at them to the point where one of the VAs cancelled showing up to cons

Basically it boils down to people feeling entitled to the way their entertainment is given to them. 

If it doesn’t fit their specifications, some people take it upon themselves to just go ape shit. This is present in basically any long standing series, but especially the ones who try to be inclusive and put an emphasis on subverting the narrative.

Basically people need to chill.
