"Why me...."
"....it's been 3 months since I last came outside like this."
Rabbit-of-Snow has avoided arrows.
Well that took an interesting turn. That was the usual quincy attitude she was used to from Ishida. A factual weirdo. “Well, seems that got you kicking a bit. I didn’t mean to upset you nor insult your brother, Kyna-san. And I’m used to being polite so it’s not a big deal. You can say it’s a bit plugged into me.” She chuckled. “I’m sure your family could use a bit of hospitality from a strange spirit like me anyways.” Honestly, Rukia had seen worse on the streets, smaller places, and less functioning ‘families’. If this family could get by here easily, she wouldn’t dare admit it would have her a hair jealous. “You didn’t sound like that before. Well, I’m glad to hear you have some kind of passion at such a young age. But are you sure you shouldn’t just leave it to the professionals?”
Rukia bowed towards the woman known as Kyna’s mother as she emerged from the stairs. “Hello, my name is Rukia Kuchiki.” She smiled, putting her hand out for a handshake. She allowed Kyna to include any more facts that she felt like adding. She was then taken back by the girl’s words towards her. Speaking on the same volume level as Kyna, her brows furrowed. “Excuse me? I value more than you’d know, girl.” Rukia placed her hands on her hips, glaring at the girl. How dare she generalize all shinigami together. And not to mention thinking so lowly of her. She sighed. Perhaps she had gone a bit too far…
Kyna shifted her feet together. She hadn't meant to group everyone together it had kind of happened. Though then again the insults to her brother had gotten under her skin. "Sorry..." She mumbled before earning an odd look from her mother. The place they were talking in was out in front of her family and Kyna didn't think they needed to hear it. Biting her lower lip Kyna moved a hand to her forehead brushing some hair from her eyes. Leave it to the professionals? "No...I can't 'leave it to the professionals'—my brother told me hollows are just monsters formed from the despair of spirits losing their heart, or the chain in their chest. As much as I hate them, as much as I fail at being a Quincy, I can't let the hollows suffer either. Besides...shinigami don't always get to a hollow in time, if I could learn how to use my power to help them then..."
This wasn't truly to talk about this. Her parents were spared from this fate of being a Quincy. She was the only one that was left in her family. Yes her hatred toward hollows for killing people was immense but that didn't mean she couldn't understand they were suffering. This is what her brother had taught her. Though Kyna didn't doubt she knew less than Rukia here. She didn't say it though.

Rukia pouted displeased to not get her desire. “You doubt the homely feelings a small closet can give to one person! It’s rather amazing actually, but I won’t go into detail, I’m sure your human brain wouldn’t be able to comprehend it’s beauty. I suppose a room could be suitable. The smaller the better.” The smaller the space was, the less she consumed of the area and the less trouble she was. That was how Rukia saw it. Not to mention, the more it strayed from the large foreboding Kuchiki manor.
"You don’t think yourself as strong then? You doubt yourself. You’re a quitter. Don’t you have some kind of passion?" One after the other, Rukia sent labels at the girl. "Jeez. I thought a human like you would be more interesting. Looks like I’m up for a boring night." She was leading the girl on, hoping to get her to deny her words in anyway.
Rukia entered the bakery first, as Kyna held the door open for her. She peered at the walls and the first room they entered. “It’s smaller than I expected…” She paused, realizing how impolite she was. “But thank you for having me over.” She smiled fakely and innocently as she normally would do at Karakura.
Kyna paused in whatever she was doing. "I'm not a quitter I'm stating fact and if you insult that, then you insult what my brother taught me and that soul reaper is not something I will tolerate." She stated tilting her head to one side eyes narrowing. "And you don't have to fake being polite, my family isn't the best out there. We know it." She had tried retaining her polite demeanor, which her brother told her was best when dealing with people who wanted to get under ones skin. "Even if I am weak, I will still fight for this town. You can count on it."
Kyna turned away from her as she heard footsteps coming from the stairs and let the smile fall back into place. "Hello mother! We have a guest today!" The shyness she normally held lost on Rukia. Kyna could only tolerate insults to a point then afterwards she'd grow defensive. Her tone lowered so only the other could hear. "I didn't realize how low shinigami values were."

Rukia crossed her arms before raising her voice. “Of course you can tell me apart from a normal spirit! Like I just said, we’re totally different!” She sighed, seeing the girl wasn’t understanding her words at all. She assured the girl of her stay. “I won’t be any trouble at all, I can stay in any compact space, a closet is most required for my stay.” She had grown used to such a small place back at Ichigo’s. It was like home, like the old days on the streets in Rukon.
Rukia raised a brow. “You don’t really understand your heritage do you? My kind killed your ancestors, you know. What if I go into your home and do do the same with your parents? Would you have the need for blood then?” It was rather cold of Rukia to ask such questions, and it wasn’t like she planned on doing any of the hypotheses she implied. But she wondered if this girl really understood what it meant to be a quincy. Straying from her harsh words she couldn’t help say her thoughts out loud. “You’re like a certain orange haired person I know around here, always a protector.” As she babbled on Rukia followed close to the small girl, her feet purposefully stepping in the exact same places as Kyna.
Kyna showed her to the small bakery were she stayed. "A closet? Well we have a small room where my brother used to stay in....It isn't that big but I wouldn't feel comfortable to having you live in a closet." She remained quiet about the question before speaking up as she stopped in front of the door. "It doesn't matter. I wouldn't be able to do anything if you did. My powers aren't that strong, actually they are pretty pathetic but you seem strong so I'm guessing I wouldn't really be able to do much." She scratched her cheek before opening the door.
"Dad! I'm home!" Kyna called holding the door Rukia.
She got a muffled reply in the back from her father, who was most likely cooking. Turning to smile at Rukia, Kyna let out a happy, "Welcome to my house!"

Rukia had no intention of scaring the girl with her anger at her surroundings. She sighed at the girl’s question. She must be too young to understand her family’s history. How naive. “Quincy hate shinigami because we annihilated their kind over 200 years ago. It’s only natural for them to dislike us. The quincies were upsetting the balance between the worlds, which is why they were killed off by shinigami.” Childish was the only word she could describe the girl with. “I’m not a normal spirit y’know. Shinigami are way different than spirits. If they’ve never seen one how do I know they won’t pull a knife on me?” This girl was so… happy. Very different from Ishida. In a way the girl’s happiness irritated her, for it made her feel like Kyna was oblivious to her situation. But in others, it was pleasant, if not a hint contagious. It was something she was so unused to seeing, as she was used to the cold frowning faces of the Kuchiki. Rukia frowned, but put her hand out allow the girl to shake her hand. “Kuchiki Rukia. I suppose I could spare a visit to a bakery for now.” Rukia continued to think it over, despite her agreement, trying to debate if this was still a good idea or not. “Fine. For now I’ll at least follow you. If I see something’s wrong I’m heading off though. You got that kid?”
Kyna blinked, before tapping her bottom lip in thought. "I could tell you weren't a normal spirit, but I'm sure they won't mind...we haven't had any guests over in a long time..." Her smile faded a bit, "I understand!" Kyna shifted the bag in her hand. "Kuchiki-san...If you are wondering I never wanted part in the group of Quincy...I find the need for blood useless...I just want to be able to protect the people here." She hadn't known her powers had disrupted the balance of things. Smiling again she beckoned for her to follow. "My house is this way!"

Rukia nodded in agreement, “Karakura is an average town with such unaverage people.” This caused her to grumble. “They said at the Academy no one would be able to see you, yeah right.” Rukia rolled her eyes but her hearing perked at the word of a clocktower. Quickly, her feet moved without pause, as she peered around the corner for the clocktower in question. Spotting it, she took a moment to try to recall the landmark in her memory. It was in that moment that she remembered two clocktowers. …Which one was this one? Rukia growled in frustration. “It’s been too damn long for me to remember all these places!” She shouted up to the heavens to no one in particular.
The small girl caught Rukia’s attention with the offer. This girl perked her curiosity. What kind of quincy was this kind to their shinigami enemies? Rukia raised a brow as she crossed her arms, glaring into the pink haired girl’s eyes as if she would find her motives deep inside there. “Wouldn’t your parents hate for someone like a shinigami to stay at their house? Why are you offering me such a thing?”
Kyna waited rather patiently for the other to calm down. She looked so frustrated to her. At her question Kyna let out a quiet, "I don't understand why Shinigami hate Quincy...did we do something bad?" She spoke up more. "My parents lost their quincy powers they can still see spirits but they won't mind. We've never met shinigami before!" She smiled at the stranger. "I'm Kyna Abbe my father owns a small bakery if you'd like I can show you were it is." She had no ulterior motives. "Everyone that can't find their way back home needs someplace to stay temporarily."
"Yeah…It gets easier." Thinking it over, Ichigo wasn’t sure if easier was the right word to use. “It… It’s always going to bother you. But you learn how to deal with it so that it doesn’t bother you as much anymore.” Apart of him hoped he hadn’t crushed the poor girls hope. He didn’t want to outright lie to her either. Telling her the truth was the better of two evils. “…” Ichigo wasn’t sure what to tell her. He had his way of dealing with it. Which was mainly ignoring them and beating the snot out of anyone wanting to pick a fight with him. She seemed nothing like that nor did he want to encourage such behiavor in her. “Gets rough sometimes… just don’t let it kick you out of the ring. If it does then you get back in.”
"I see..." So she'd have to deal with it till she found a way to brush past it. "I'm sure I'll figure out some way to deal with it. It probably comes with the experience!" As if to reassure herself she nodded slightly. "I'm sure my onii-san would like you." She murmured smiling. "Because you're so nice~" The smile grew a bit before she gasped. "Ah—I forgot! I have to get home! Hey Kurosaki-san would you like to come? My family owns a small bakery, so you can have something if you'd like!" Quickly she added. "It's okay if you don't, you're probably busy and I don't want to keep you!"
Someone break my Muses heart in one ask.
I DARE YOU!
So she finally asked…
His attention went completely towards her as he merely arose and headed for the door with an even stride about him. “….” He said nothing, though it was clear he was doing as she had requested. As he left the room, the door closed and left the young girl alone to her own mind. If she would try to escape, her life would be ended as quickly as it had begun. Would she take the risk?
Kyna stayed put, well aware of the threat outside that room. She wouldn't move but she was curious about the room itself. Peering around her, she took in the covered cages and the various other things. It gave off a feel of causing fear, and she had a feeling the "F" in his name stood for that but the more she looked around the more it didn't look that bad.

Looking around the corner nonchalantly, Rukia spoke hypothetically, not even looking at the girl. “…If one were lost, where might be the best place to head as a landmark Kyna-san?” She still refused to admit she was stupid enough to get lost in a town she had lived in for half a year at one point. Rukia sighed. “I think I went too far out of town… Everything’s way too unfamiliar. I might have to stay the night at this side of Karakura.” She crossed her arms, glaring at the street sign once more as if it were to blame.
"Um..." She paused thinking about it. "Well I'm not sure, Karakura looks the same..." Landmarks to distinguish where one was? Kyna couldn't think of any at the top of her head. "I'm sure there is a clock tower on the other side..." When the shinigami spoke about staying over here she blinked. "Do you need a place to stay if you do get stuck here? I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't mind...we do have a...spare room."
Rabbit-of-Snow has avoided arrows.
Rukia jumped at being spoken to by an unfamiliar voice. She wasn’t expecting company nor any humans that she didn’t know to speak to her. She had thought she’d met all the humans who could see her in this small town already. They never stop showing up do they? Hmm? This one is… different, similar to Ishida. A quincy perhaps? It wasn’t til she had finished her thoughts and analyzed the new presence that she turned towards the female. She peered towards the small girl with cold eyes, as if unimpressed “I’m not lost. And what’s it to you if I am, quincy?” She dare not admit her dumbness, at least not yet. She had too much pride for that.
Kyna shuffled her feet nervously. "W-well I was just wondering is all...You looked like you were lost a-and..." She trailed off at the harsh tone. Yes, she was a Quincy but she hoped not to be grouped in with the rest. "I'm K-Kyna...I'm sorry to have bothered you miss..." She apologized before looking up from were her gaze had settled on the ground. She hadn't meant to startle the other but wasn't going to say anything.
"……." refuses to admit he’s feeling lonely.
"..." Sees stranger sulking over there.
Ah, the stomach grumble, yes he had heard it but would pay little to no mind to it. If she was hungry, she would speak of it and that was that. He had little time to ask a million questions concerning her well being but then again, she wasn’t an enemy. She was merely lost and caught somewhere not so pleasant. Maybe he should be more lenient…Maybe..
Elsewhere in her mind she wondered why he was doing this? She was a stranger, an outsider and could possibly hinder their plans even if she was weak. After a few minutes, Kyna spoke shyly. "Can I have something to eat please?" She was normal social, but being somewhere that wasn't in her comfort zone made things uncomfortable.
"Very well…Tell me, what is your name again?.." He didn’t bother with other question such as hunger or thirst, for it would be odd if two trays arrived. Instead, he would just ask her name and nothing more. If she was hungry, she would have to voice it. His head would turn slightly now, awaiting an answer from the girl.
The answer was simple, "Kyna Abbe." She tilted her head to the side bringing her knees up to her chest. If she had known this would have happened, she would have brought some food or better yet just stayed home. Her stomach let out a low rumble in response to thinking about it and she let her head drop onto her knees. Maybe she would ask about food in a little bit.
