Look... I always assume the best in people. I don't think tumblr based anti-fujoshi are knowingly racist and misogynistic. I don't think antis who don't directly harm others are knowingly abusive. I don't think they are inherently evil. But what they say and do is actually the only thing that matters in terms of the effects they have on people. So it's hard to find an excuse when what they say is what I've heard abusers, racists and misogynistic say, especially when they just straight up refuse to be nuanced or listen to others. Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's frustrating.

No, it’s not. The definition of fetishise is “a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc.”. A human being, or two human beings, doing sexual things being portrayed in a sexual light is not fetishisation. To apply all problematic tropes in romance media (which exist) to all yaoi, the Japanese term for fictional MLM relationships, implies that Japan has never created a nuanced or realistic portrayal of gay men, and that all their media is gross and homophobic. That’s fucking racist.
Also, yaoi is made primarily by queer people, but even if it weren’t the case, straight women being aroused by two men having sex is literally completely normal and a natural response?

If I’m allowed,I’m just pissed off that this entire image exists. I can take hearing peoples different opinions,but this is taking a drawing someone worked hard on and just defacing it. The crew member who worked on the original piece meant for it to inspire and comfort people who dealt with the issues mentioned and this person is using it to show what they dislike about the season. It was using characters the fandom loved to show that everyone deserves to be respected,and this person just decided to throw that message aside and use it to show that they don’t respect the creator’s decisions for this season. Whoever drew the original art worked their asses off and meant for it to be positive,to give hope to those that felt like they weren’t worth anything something to show they weren’t alone and this person ignored it. They disregarded the artist’s vision and disregarded the people it helped and comforted.

I can tell you that when I first got into fandom I was in a small group of fans that included 2 gay men(who were dating, and are now happily married with 2 adopted children) and were quite happy to encourage us in the production of our BL smut. But that was a while ago and they’ve fallen out of online fandom and never made the jump to tumblr.
Now I am going to ask what are your sources that fujoshi only means and have ever only meant homophobic women objectifying gay relationship(in defiance of pretty much ever article regarding the history of BL) Have you looked at them critically to determine what gives them the right to speak for ALL mlm(including over mlm arguing against them) How have you determined that their criticism isn’t rooted in misogyny and desire to oppress women. I never said anything about being oppressed currently. I simply asked if you had considered the possibility that maybe your sources for the definition of fujoshi aren’t as altruistic and woke as you seem to think. I mean they are attempting to bring back a misogynistic and hateful definition of a term. Again the term fujoshi wasn’t an insult meant to criticize women for “fetishizing gay men.” It was a term meant to describe them as undesirable for marriage and worthless. And women have historically been criticize and oppressed regarding their sexuality(and expression there of.) So maybe you shouldn’t be so keen to relinquish a reclaimed gendered slur.
