Yes it’s the same obi! I love reversible obi, so versatile. This one is especially nice because you can go for a either a modern or classic look depending on the side. When I originally bought it I only saw the pink side. Boy was I surprised when I flipped it over!

KimoNovember Day 12: Tolkien inspired! The houmongi has a snowy mountaintop pattern that reminds me of the Misty Mountains. The obi reminds me of the White Tree of Gondor (albeit much bushier than how the book described it…). The birds obidome are for the thrushes in The Hobbit. It’s been a while since I coordinated something formal! Sadly, both kimono and obi are a bit too stained to be worn formally, but I love that it relates to one of my fandoms!

I had so much fun yesterday!! Some friends set up a Japanese Halloween where everyone did the “Yubaba” hair (you know from spirited away) and ohaguro (painting teeth black which was a sign of beauty for married women in the old days).
