Rude fight back the urge to smash his partner’s head on the floor, as he felt more saliva hit his face. His behavior started to annoy him but Rude kept it together. He studied Reno’s face and movements, he could see that his eyes had woken up and was aware of theirs surrounding. But the fighting instinct was still there. Reno felt trapped, and a trapped Reno was a dangerous one. This wasn’t the first time Rude had seen this in him, so he knew what to do.
The bald man loses his grip slightly, slowly letting go of the redhead to make sure not to get hit again. Then he steps slightly faster off him. Leaving Reno on the floor. As the taller Turk stands up on his two feet he wipes away the spit on his face with his shirt sleeve. Removing his cracked sunglasses, putting them in his pocket. He held his eyes on Reno. Rude let out a deep sigh and sat down on the couch, the same couch his partner had fallen from.
He cast a quick glance on the redheads TV, which still played the movie they had been watching. It was on the part where the movie hero were faced with a tough decision, stick to his plan or save the woman he loved. Kinda stupid. Rude watched the redhead again, waiting for him to calm down.
Reno scrambled back across the floor until his back hit the hotel-room dresser, putting as much space between himself and Rude as possible, for both their safety. Still fighting down the last dregs of aggression that were hammering through him. Just what the hell had happened, they'd just been watching a movie and...?
"Sorry." He ground out, still breathing heavily. But it didn't sound a bit like he meant it. A few breaths later, he tried again. "Sorry..." Softer but more genuine. He looked at Rude on the couch as he hauled himself back up, suit rumbled and glasses gone because Reno had broken them, and it hadn't been entirely an accident this time.
A long few moments of quiet stretched in the mostly dark room, the tv the only source of sound and light while Reno leant on the dresser, trying to get his bearings. "Aw fuck, man I'm sorry." He scrubbed a hand over his face in bitter frustration. "This can't keep happenin', yo... We can't..." They were stretched thin as it was, trying to keep running one step ahead of the terrorists who were also thier only hope against Sephiroth, trying to keep herding them down the path ShinRa wanted. And Reno wasn't helping.

"Course ya are. Think you’d be talkin’ to me if you weren’t, yo?"
The two of them sat in silence for a very long time, neither of them knowing quite what to say next. He thought it all the time, that sometimes he really didn’t care whether he lived or died and that it had only gotten worse since he’d heard the diagnosis, but having actually said it out loud, he wished he could take it back.
The silence stretched on and on, and the more time that passed, the harder it was become to keep his emotions in check. Everything from the past two weeks or so was catching up with him much too quickly. He tried to keep his tears unnoticeable, tried to stop his shoulders shaking too hard, but it was no use.
So instead, he leaned on his friend’s shoulder and let out everything he’d been keeping tamped down inside him. “I don’t—” he choked. “I don’t wanna just not care, you now?”
Reno didn't reach out to Cloud as the silence stretched, was still staunchly trying to deny that any of this was actually happening, right here in front of him. and just as Cloud actually crying would make the situation much to real, so would any attempt to give comfort, he was sure. So he just...sat there, waiting, mouth dry and hands trying to clench into fists while Cloud tried just as hard as he was to act like he was under control.
It didn't last. The instant Cloud leaned into him his resolve to preserve the illusions crumbled, crushed by the immediacy of Clouds weight and that he couldn't pretend like the other's shoulders weren't shaking and face wasn't wet when he could feel it.
Wrapping his arms around Cloud was as instinctive as it was awkward in this position. And even though he was the one who was supposed to trying to help Cloud, he found himself holding on like a lifeline while his mind raced for something to say. "Then care, yo. If you don't I'll fuckin' do it for you. Not lettin' you bail easy, got it?"

(Unique approach to the character that I understand took some courage to undertake, the fact that I forget this is not the canon Cloud Strife, your infectious enthusiasm for things, the work you've done to create a safe and educational space within the rp community, your queue is full of awesome things, listening in on your meta and headcanon discussions, your tagging system is cute and pretty darn effective, ALL CAPS PLOTTING EVERYTHING, you've stuck with me even when I bungle up everything, trying to decipher what you meant when your phone is being a jerk, Cute. Cute just everywhere, running with random ideas, also Angst. Angst just everywhere. Basically you are the master of feels. Also a good friend.)

(Creativity, imagination, versatility, courage in stepping out of the box with a character,willingness to play around with questions of identity (loyalty, humanity, gender rolls) with your character, your commitment to helping others, the way you always stand up for your friends, the way you’ve worked to outgrow origins both personally and as a writer, that you love ducks and chickens so much is just adorable, all the cute stuff that ends up on my dash because of you, that you’re super patient with me even though I lose things >_<, that even if it takes a while I know if I send you something you’ll respond and there is 100% chance it will either make me squee or make me cry, your perserverence.)

Seeing all of the negativity, sadness, and hate lately has made me want to spread the love, send me 'Love' and I will list everything I love about you
Person A escorting a very drunk Person B home. While half carrying an intoxicated Person B through the dark streets at 4 a.m in the morning, Person A is bombarded with so many slurred compliments and affectionate cuddles that they both eventually end up falling to the ground. (especially if A is smaller than B)
Person B trying to storm out in the middle of an argument with Person A, but they end up slamming straight into a glass door.
Person B receiving a minor injury somewhere on their face. Person B insists its fine, but Person A fusses over it. Person B ends up going to work with a cute, colorful, character-themed bandaid smack dab in the middle of their face.

He recognizes the handwriting as Harmony's, and ducks out the way somewhere quiet to focus on reading at the first opportunity.
Well, looked like he'd be picking up an especially expensive hot chocolate and...like a flower or something? That's what people did right? On his way by her desk this evening.
Just like old times, huh? Funny, he'd never actually thought to ask if she was still interested.
