3 Shows to Watch Along with the Pints
I’ve been missing tv time and I need to get the pint engaged with some tv to give us both a break from each other. Cue tv time together! Here are a few shows we’ve watched together and have enjoyed it immensely!
Cardcaptor Sakura
For the adult: there are nuances and hard hitting situations that fly over the pint’s head like the brother’s relationship with his friend, the mom’s death and the father’s relationship with his in laws, etc - it keeps you entertained and reminds you of life’s lessons
For the Pint: the magic, the costumes, the humour, the realness with the chores and responsibilities of a 3 person family unit (father, brother and Sakura), friendships, the triumph in collecting the cards and the hilarious sibling relationship that’s very relatable
Tip: the subbed version is far better and there are a few series and movies to watch!
Transformers Rescue Robots
For the adult: with more adult themes, problems and rescues this is entertaining to watch; withOptimus Prime & Bumblebee thrown in as fan service - though really the 4 new bots are entertaining enough in their bid to adapt to the human world while battling a few vicious villains along the way
For the pint: transformer bots that rescue and stop crime along with their human counterpart, the relationships between the rescue family, the bots learning human jargon, the humour, the life lessons and the realness of the family unit are fun and relatable
Tip: Can be binge watched, the only drawback is it’s sad when it concludes - the ending feels like maybe it was a cop out
Hilda
For the adult: a world full of magical and fantastical creature that the pints miss the drawls and adult attitudes; it mocks a lot of the adult world in a very tongue in cheek manner guaranteed to get you laughing and pondering the cleverness if it all
For the pint: an adventure filled animation that focuses on friendship and helping creatures big or small, without judgement - and of course the fun magical world with trolls, giants and more strange creatures that opens the mind to more of the unseen and possibilities
Tip: Best when binge watched and on a big screen
Granny’s House
These memories are mine alone. Not everyone shares these memories and that’s fine. I love the Granny’s house not just for the memories though, but for the space that comforts me.
It envelopes me in a cocoon and says, it’s okay take your time. You can be suspended here. It’s a glorified image yes, its a hark back to the moments where there was no responsibility, no deep regrets and no adulting. Because really that’s hard. And I’m looking for that exit.
The safe haven filled with books of my guilty pleasure kind. The calmness in the air. The peace that settles around me. The piano which I was too afraid to play. The uncomfortable couches and the hard beds. The cosy little rooms.
The place gives me leave to leave my troubles on the doorstep and breathe in the fresh air. A cleansing feel to come in for some time for me.
It’s special for me. I understand why I’m focused on Granny’s house right now. I want that security blanket of those books that would transport me to a different place where there was someone who had my back. Someone for just me. And that dream has fallen to the wayside, and I want someone to tell me that It’s ok. It will be fine later. Harlequin will always be something I love. I don’t regret it. I cannot. I will not. And I’ll get over this.
Perhaps what HURTS the
most when a relationship
ends isn’t the leaving
or the harsh words,
but knowing what could
have been if it had worked.
UNFINISHED LOVE.
That glimmer of something
so special, and then POOF.
GONE.

Gotta love Dramas and their philosophical quotes.
When there is no focus, creativity really has nowhere to go. . .
