It’s Been a Long Time!
It’s Jes by the way, I just realised that the last time I actually wrote on here was when we still lived in our share house and that was a LONG time ago. We moved into our own little 3 1/2 bedroom house more than five months ago. A lot has happened since then. My cousin has been blogging for a while about her family and the things they do together and I thought ‘Wow, I should totally do that!’ Then as I was trying to figure out where to do it, I realised I already had a family blog. Oops.
What has happened lately? Well, Loren got sick again thanks to her head so she is off work for a while until we figure out what is going on and what we want to do, I was accepted into an online Uni which I start in June, Loren started Uni a few months ago and is loving it, CJ started Kinder which he absolutely loves and Luna has found more ways to annoy the absolute crap out of us!
I made a new friend a few weeks ago who also has chronic pain issues and meeting someone who totally understands the daily issues that comes with it rather than making me feel like an absolute crap-head was really nice. We have spent heaps of time together since then and today we took CJ over to her house to meet her husband and their three beautiful dogs. CJ really loves gardening so they planted together, we had some lunch, watched some tv, had a really nice chat and I had two delicious cups of coffee.
Because we are a lesbian couple and we don’t have that many males in our lives, it’s nice to have someone new who is male for CJ to meet. I think it’s super important for kids with all kinds of parents to have a female and a male role model in their lives. We have the female part completely covered and so meeting Nat has been nice because now CJ has another man he can connect with. They got along really well which made me really happy and at the end, CJ gave him a huge hug and it was so adorable to see him with a big smile on his face. I love days where all you do is smile and I’ve been having a lot of those lately!
About Us!
We are a family of four; Loren (Mama Loren) & Jes (Mummy J), CJ; our son and Luna; our kitten.
Loren is a part time worker, a future primary school teacher, a brilliant cuddler and the one that wears the literal pants the most. She has a rare brain condition that can be a butt hole sometimes and she has the biggest beanie collection in the entire world. She doesn’t like cooked mushroom, olives or cheese which is amazing for Jes since they are some of her favourite foods.
Jes is a stay at home mum while she is dealing with unknown chronic pain, a future social worker and a future published novelist (fingers crossed). She likes to write, send too many emojis, paint her face with makeup and take photos of people on her phone. She likes tattoos, olives, and cheese. Kissing Loren is her favourite thing to do.
CJ is the coolest one of the family. He likes to dress identically to Mama Loren, practice his writing and maths, run around until he can't breathe, read books, dance by himself, give people huge bear cuddles, watch The Simpsons with Mama Loren and watch mermaid shows with Mummy J in bed. His favourite things are tie dye, Up & Go, chocolate and porridge.
Luna is a cat but thinks she's a dog and a human. She likes scratching her parents bedroom door until they wake up, annoying her brother until he yells at her, eating too much food, eating human food instead of her own, playing with her hamster and being held like a baby. She likes to act like she loves you and then scratch your face off.
Photos from last weekend. It was a lovely weekend.
I miss CJ
I (Loren) have had some pretty bad luck with my health, which means I haven't seen our beautiful boy since Saturday. I know it's not the worlds longest amount of time, but my god I miss him so much. I just need some CJ cuddles. We had such an amazing weekend last weekend!! We had an awesome Pizza party at Neen's house like usual, and the girls and CJ dressed up like the awesome princesses that they all are! On Saturday we just had a chill out day. CJ and I did some arts and craft while Jes did some study. We made a magic stick. Which was just two toilet rolls, duct tape and some rice. Super easy! Makes a lot of noise and he got to paint it! Then Sunday was wonderful. CJ and I dropped Jes off at Neen's house, then he and I went out for some Mama and son time. We went and had some lunch, then did what he likes to call "boring grown up stuff"- shopping. :P Afterwards we went back to Neen's and Ewan was there. CJ and Ewan played some basketball for a bit and Jes, Neen and I got to have some nice chats. When we got home CJ and I made some awesome play doh! We almost didn't though- he had been a bit naughty throughout the afternoon, and the consequence was no play doh. It got to a point where he had just stopped listening, so I had to say no... But I was more excited about it than he was so we made it anyway, but after the meltdown from me saying no his behavior changed and he was wonderful for the rest of the night. :) (I will do a big photo post after this one) This weekend compared to last, it just sucks. I miss him so much. I just want to spend all my time with him, and be with him always and squish his face with my love.
We have the greatest son in the whole wide world.
Christmas and other things.
I know Christmas is far away, but we are going to buy presents slowly this year since we wipes out our savings last year. We are slowly buying stuff for our house for when we move into our own home in October. Last night there was a massive sale online, we got a 6 piece Raco pan set for $129, marked down from $400! Plus we got two amazing towels for only $20 each. Every fortnight, or month, we are going to buy a few things off our list of things we need, and we will just keep them all in their boxes for when we move. For Christmas we are going to buy Christian a dog, probably a 1 year old puppy from somewhere so he can take responsibility for it, feeding it and walking it (with our help, obviously). We will also start giving him pocket money as well, since he will be 5 by then. We are going to Melbourne for Christmas this year so we wouldn't actually give him the dog until we came back, it will be a huge surprise for him. He's really good with my Mums dog, Sophie, and I think he would love to grow up with a dog as well. Now we have to figure out what to give him for his birthday, which is in July. The big 5! Time goes too quickly. We will be throwing him a small party, not sure where yet. Either here at our house, or at a play centre. All the kids at his child care have their birthdays at the play centre that is owned by the child care, but we might have it at a different one since his birthday last year, Mum threw him a party there. So many awesome things are happening this year :).
"Tell me all the bad words you know. Go."
I know we don't normally post stuff like this, but it made me giggle.
I wanna make love to your soul, that’s how deep I wanna go.

I did food shopping today and it was under $100, that never happens, since our son eats so much. Soon I'll have to get a job just for his food.

Ah the joys of children (:
You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow they’ll be a little older than they were today. This day is a gift. Breathe & notice. Smell and touch them; study their faces and little feet and pay attention. Relish the charms of the present. Enjoy today. It will be over before you know it.

Goodbye Weekend.
It's Sunday, and it's been a pretty productive day. We drove to Goulburn to pick up Neen, who was a little hungover, poor girl. I got to meet one of her friends from Kindergarten, who was really lovely. Her son has autism and he was really vibrant. As soon as we arrived, he turned to Loren and said, "I'm going to show you my trains now" so she was dragged off to look at trains and I had a nice little chat with Neen's friend. Her husband was there as well and they were both really lovely to us, she made me a cup of tea and we all had a nice chat before we left.
We had a nice drive home, Loren drove there so I drove back. It's such a beautiful drive, if it was closer, I would totally live down there but it would be way too much driving. I love driving but not that much. We had put a lot of TV on Loren's iPad in case CJ got bored, and about thirty minutes from Neen's house, Loren hooked the iPad up to the speaker so the audio played Peppa Pig as we were driving. We all had a bit of a giggle, then they watched some Blues Clues. Loren's trying to make CJ like the show since she loves it so much, he is starting to like it a lot so they were both yelling words out from the show. They have the greatest mama/son relationship.
(That was a completely accidental picture, oops.) Anyway, we went back to Neen's for a while and hung out, then her son was dropped home so we saw him for a while as well.
We came home since Loren had to go to work at 5 for a work meeting, and so CJ just spent some time watching TV and playing. Now Loren has gone and I'm being a lazy Mum tonight and just relaxing. CJ and I had some cuddles outside. I love when he is tired because he always wants lots of cuddles. Now he's in my closet as usual, putting my clothes and shoes on and we are waiting for his dinner to cook. It's an early bed time for him tonight since it's child care tomorrow.
I took this photo last night since my mother in law bought CJ heaps of clothes, including these pajamas and I thought they looked awesome. I tried to get him to smile, but he was too cranky and tired last night.
This is spot on. The only acceptable thing to say: Congratulations.
We gotta start teaching our daughters to be somebodies instead of somebody’s.
