Your Love

Lord, I have completely fallen in love with you. Your romance fills me with a joy I cannot describe, your love is the only love I wholeheartedly put my trust and faith in. In loving you, I know you are leading me. You have saved me and pulled me from the darkness when I thought I couldn’t go on. Your mercy and kindness has renewed me. I feel your holy spirit moving within me, tears of joy instantly spill down my cheeks in awe of you. Thank you for gently answering my prayers. Gently you have raised me from the pavement. Thank you for the countless blessings. It is not perfection I ever seek, for with your love, I know I am moulded for a hopeful future. For the first time I feel hopeful, I feel the ability to be vulnerable. Please lord, create me, shape me, lead me to do your will. It is only you.

August 23rd

Dear Lord,

I’m scared to love him. I couldn’t be more thankful for you to give me the gift of love, deserving love, but I am so guarded. I pray for your guidance as we walk forward, help me love selflessly, to trust, to love with clear judgement. I am already so scared of losing him and I haven’t even let myself fall. I am already terrified that he will leave me. I can’t fall again Lord, please I pray to never return to that darkness, for I barely recovered. Please Lord give me your wisdom and the strength to differentiate between good and wrong. I fear remaining in one position, too scared to move forward as I don’t know how. I don’t know how to love anymore. I truly care, and I want to love, but it’s as though my mind has barricaded the heart. I used to love so freely, so willingly. All I wanted was to give all of myself. I’m so scared that that right man has finally come to me, and I am now incapable of giving him what he deserves. Please help me Lord, I feel ashamed and unworthy. I do not deserve this gift.

I learned that fully loving and fully living are not only synonymous but the kind of life that Jesus invited us to be a part of.

Restless Heart

Dear God,

Release the chains in me, awake my soul to the hope you hold, your grace is all I need. Thank you for a beautiful mass tonight and for welcoming me home. I have never felt so alone, but in your gentle call I know where my heart will always truly belong. Your spirit is alive in me tonight, I feel the warmth in my chest. Your love makes all my struggles seem insignificant. Help me lord to forever focus on your love, for that is what I truly need. In you I know peace. Help me not to attempt to understand all that isn’t meant to be known. I fear trust, it is quite possibly the hardest thing for me to do. Please take away the bitterness and the cold I have been shown, replace that with your love and warmth so that I can learn to love those around me. You are my saviour, in your mercy I live.

I've Never Been So Scared

Dear God,

I haven't written in a long time, and tonight life is really really hard. I'm so scared and so alone, and I'm hurting. I ended things with my long time partner and I feel like I threw away something amazing, and that I'll never get it back. But at the same time I know in my heart that it was the right thing to let him go. Please stand by me through this difficulty for I am afraid that I will fall. Please give me strength and fill me with your grace. Please bless my partner and help him through this hurt and struggle I have caused, he did nothing wrong. Watch over him for he needs a guardian right now. Thank you for all the blessings you have given me in my life, and for the time we spent together, learning and growing in love.

Throughout It All

Dear God,

Tonight is a bit of a struggle. Memories are haunting me, bringing pain back up to the surface that I thought I had buried. It's hard moving on from experiences that will never quite have closure, but I know everything happens because you have bigger plans for us all. What we want, and what is good for us tend to be very different things sometimes. I pray for healing and strength to move on and trust in your plans for me. Help me to know better than the suffering that is self-inflicted. I trust completely in you God, life separate from you would have me in ruins.

Beyond Blessed

Words cannot describe how much tonight, I thank you. I have not felt so alive in a long time. Everything truly feels as if it is falling into place. And though, yes challenges will still be present, I have been blessed with each and every thing I could possibly ask for. My friends, family, physical ability, health, loving boyfriend, university education and finally a job I was given today. Though I stress, and anxiety is commonly present within me, you have given me a new ability to breathe life in. I am more capable than ever to balance all aspects, and appreciate all of them at the same time. All of my troubles I offer up to you, for I know you are listening and guarding my heart with your shield. If anything is possible, it is with your help. I cannot walk alone. You are the comfort, love, calmness, purity, strength and wholeness my soul needs to come alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for just being there. Just knowing that alone makes life incredibly precious and exciting.
