“Can I use this chair? Everywhere else is full, and you’re the closest to a charger, so….” Skye tried to shoot the guy a winning smile. Had she really forgotten how to interact with normal people? (Wasn’t that something? Her job was to help people, after all. To protect them from the unknown. How come it felt like she’d spent most of her time helping powered people recently?) She cradled her dinosaur of a laptop, looking hesitantly at the open chair.
As much as he would be hesitant to admit it later, Thomas was more focused on the coffee in front of him than the people around him. It was rude, and he knew it, but until he could figure out a way to get his newest project to work properly, his thoughts would be entirely occupied with caffeine and work. After a few moments, he finally registered that someone had spoken to him, lifting his head and offering a somewhat awkward smile in return. “Yeah, go for it. Sorry, I was just… thinking about stuff.”
“It’s okay. I totally get it, the deep in thought look.” Skye grinned and moved to slide into the open chair, setting up her laptop and getting it plugged in. “I’m, uh-” She paused for a moment as the computer booted up, stretching out a hand to her table companion. “I’m Daisy.”
