Andy was sure shock was painted across his face as Levi explained the situation. He got it, of course he did, and Andy was never one to judge anyone- ever. âFuck Levi,â Andy breathed, a low whistle slipping past his lips. âShe was just dropped off at your place? Thatâs insane.â Andy couldnât imagine what must be going through Leviâs mind, what he must be dealing with. A child born from grief and she looked just like her dad. As Jessie sat back down at the table with her ice cream and started to eat, focused on the treat, Andy looked back at Levi. âWell, if you ever need any help you know Iâve got your back. Really. Anything you need Iâm here man.â
He nodded at Andyâs question, not even sure how to process everything that was happening at that moment. It felt weird explaining all this and realising that this was his life now, that his fucking around after Lyla had died had caused this. He had completely forgotten himself, lost himself in the grief and just trying to find people to distract him from the shit heap that his life was. His eyes flickered over Jessie as she ate the dessert sheâd picked, smearing chocolate on her face as she did so. The girls hair was a mess, having only been brushed as an afterthought when they left the house for Savannah that morning and the outfit she had been dropped off in whilst washed, needed ironing. Andyâs offer of help meant more to Levi than he would ever admit out loud, â...thanks.â he managed, a brief smirk tugging at his lips before fading quickly, âWhat do I even do with a kid?â
