On 13.02.2020, the track was mixed and mastered. Some research was done during the process. Then at 16:00 ... SUBMISSION
RECORDING DONE
The recording of the track is done. I managed to re-record what needed to be redone. All that’s left is to get the song mixed and mastered
On 9/12/2019, my peer will came to play a bass and guitar piece. It really added some warmth to my piece. Cheers Will! Just need to re record the kick drum & hi hat!
Spoke with my classmates and lecturer. They all gave some solid critical analysis. Looking to re-record the hi hat and bass drum. Then looking to record some bass and electric guitar.
Recording of the snare. Duct tape was added to control the ring or sustain of the drum.
I recorded the kick drum twice. One with the hole covered, and the other without the hole covered. We compare the 2 recording and preferred the recording with the hole covered.
The recording of Vocals. I figured that sitting down is much more convenient since the vocalist can feel at ease. The microphone is placed at the artist’s height.
Recording of Hi-hat
1/2 Mixed
So far, I have recorded some vocals and the drum (kick drum, hi-hat and snare). So today I done a rough mixed of what I have recorded so far. I added some EQ and compression to every element and created a dynamic balance by setting everything at the right volume. I bounced the song to MP3 so i can listen in headphones and everything sounds in place.
To wrap things off, I decided to book a session for me to edit, mix and master the entire session. I have a rough mixed on the song already but this session will be for me to fully polish the song with the plan i have. This day will be very interesting.
Session for recording of guitar and bass.
Finishing Touches
Just spoke with my guitarist and bassist. We agreed on a time and day to meet and record a guitar and bass solo.
Track Recorded
During my session, I was able to record 80% I needed to record and do a rough mix. I recorded the drums and added some vocals with my artist. I really broke down how I recorded the drums especially due to struggling to mount the hi-hat. All that’s left to record is the guitar and bass
... studio booked
Booked the studio, I think this session will be enough to get everything sorted. Got my second (backup) engineer with me, got my vocalist, got my guitarist and I’m the percussionist [or drummer; still contemplating whether I should record drums]. This is due to be interesting
... conversations
Spoke to my fellow classmate Will. He is willing to play a little guitar solo for this song. But the question is, will he be able to play a solo piece of my music genre? Won’t be a big deal if he can’t because it will keep things open and let me experiment with something new.
