Journal Prompt 5, Photoshop Tennis with Alex Ivan
Journal Prompt 3 Self Portrait and Lighting
This portrait of myself was taken in the University Cove photography studio and demonstrates three point lighting. That beaming smile I owe to the antics of Alex Ivan, Christian Johnson, and Kate Hatton for being so delightfully goofy.
Journal Entry #2
This photo was of hoarfrost on a small clump of shrubbery outside the U Hall windows. Taken during our group experimentation the first day with the cameras, I explicitly said to my partners Alex and Jessica that a close up image of this hoarfrost with the blurred background would look very interesting and upon our return to the class that was the assignment asked of us.
The sun was rising to the right of where this photo was taken and the way it illuminates the hoarfrost was very interesting and eye catching, almost appearing to blur the edges of the focal point.
Journal Entry 1
"Love & Lust" "I Heart Design" & "Drawing Projects"
I was drawn to Love and Lust because of its use of negative space and its vertical text. I decided to maintain this in my own image. Drawing projects was my favorite cover, and I was drawn to its grungy abstract design. I Heart Design was appealing literally because it was shiny, small things and small minds hey, but nevertheless it stood out and I sought to further emphasize the glossy shine of its cover text.
