Ok I need y'all to hear me out. Key Nagatatsu was raised on a FARM. Boy was put to work growing SQUASH his entire life. On the other hand most gorotama players we get backstory of, like Ssyelle and Casper and Falco, were raised by well off upper middle class and wealthy people. I get the angst of Key being his mothers son, and being antagonized for that, but can we consider the angst of being a son of the land and being placed in a large city where people look down on you for not knowing where you belong there. Where you get odd looks for your tradition and accent and your knowledge of things that no longer matter there. I have a vision in my head of Key being invited to a fancy ball or party commemorating a good gorotama game and Ssyelle asks him if he knows what to wear and he says he does and he wears a nice outfit with his hair down and flowers and braids and as he walks in he realizes that no one else there looks like him. I have a bunch of headcanons about the cultural differences between the city and the valleys but idk guys can we remember he's a farm boy please.

Pls we need more farm boy/country side Key moments in canon (i count 3 or 4, need to fact check that). I think this is why he's always ready to talk back/throw hands with people who mess with him or his friends.
