The NeXt Lesson and my new role (blog post)
The 21st Century Learning and AICT team at the TCDSB is offering workshops to schools who want to design new models of learning that better prepare learners for life and work in the 21st Century.
I hope to document authentic teaching experiences from the school board to help inspire teachers either in our own board or around the world: how to integrate the six competencies of 21st Century learning with curriculum and content expectations.
Starting this role at the school board will allow me the opportunity to explore the breadth of activity all across the system. I would love to promote best practices and share examples of the learning going on in your classroom.

From Lori Di Marco - possibly ideas
At OLMC for the Cardinal Newman Resource day on the NeXt Lesson. Collaboration: working together, shared responsibility, making substantive (fundamental) decisions, and working interdependently.
This handy visual guide explores technology use by young children. How much and what do they use, and is it appropriate?
An interesting discussion starter for child psychologists and early childhood educators. How much is too much technology, and how will it affect how children think and process information in our world?
So begins a three-year journey working with teachers and professionals in education. I'll be documenting salient websites, resources, presentations, and ideas that will hopefully inspire new thinking and connect together a vision for 21st century learning.
First stop, a new laptop from the school board for me to use. Yay! Win7 64bit i5 ~ But it's a big clunky 15-incher ~ Can't wait to get my hands on an iPad and some other toys to play around with.
