Hello everyone.
I am alive and well. I hope you are, too.
As you may have noticed, this account has been inactive for 5 or so years, and it will largely remain so in the forseeable future.
I am no pilot and I am not here to announce my departure. I am not here to declare my return to this platform either. I just have some thoughts I need to get out of my head, and some words to say to people who may or may not even be here to listen anymore. The kind of words your brain comes up with in a sleepless night.
To all of my followers, and by extension everyone out there who read, liked, or reblogged my posts, thank you.
This blog started out as a fun little side passion project when I was in university. I do not even remember how or when did I begin but I am so glad I did. Every now and then I get messages from people saying "hey that's the ship me/my dad/my granddad was on!" and I cannot put into words how much every single one of those messages mean to me.
I am no historian. To claim so myself would be an insult to all actual historians, I believe. I did not start this blog to "preserve history" or to "educate people" or to "learn from the past" or anything great and grand. I was just a nerd who liked boats (I still very much do) and wanted someone to talk to about boats and stuff. Thank you for listening. It warmed my heart to see so many people share the same passion as I do. This blog was an escape and it kept me going in a rather dark time of my life and for that I am eternally grateful. Worry not though for the seas have calmed and the storm is now behind.
To all of my mutuals, and friends I have made on this website: thank you.
I am not good with words so pardon the lack of vocabulary, but thank you. I remember the chats we had, the games we played, the memes we made. I do not use this website much anymore, but I still check on here from time to time, and reading the silly little asks and conversations we made years ago never fail to bring a smile to my face. This alone is the reason why I am still hanging on to this account, to be honest. Thank you for the good times we had, and know that those memories will live rent-free in my head until the day I die. Or get Alzheimer's. If any of you feel like reconnecting, please feel free to shoot me a DM anytime.
To @tanks-a-lot , @british-eevee , and @fujisan-ni-noboru-hinode who seems to be gone:
3G bad.
