For as hot as the nerdy professor is in her suits and vests and, god, those damn prolific elbow patched blazers... nothing really could've prepared Clarke for meeting Artist Lexa. Like, Lexa in her creating flow. The Lexa who is covered in clay smudges and dust and streaks of old glaze. Lexa with swipes of slip on her cheek, and forehead, and the tips of sweat-frizzed curly hair that even her glasses struggle not to get tangled in.
Where everything else in Lexa's life (sans her office desk, Clarke loves to needle) can be so precise and regimented, when Lexa's working in the studio it's like being with this stoic ball of creative chaos wrapped up in a lean little body. Because the Lexa who rolls her cuffs with calculated precision is the same woman who can't seem to throw a vase without ending up having a million finger swipes across her thighs. And suddenly, prefectly pressed collars don't feel as natural on her after seeing the way frayed cutoffs look on those legs stretching out from under a gnarly, well-loved smock.
Professor Elbow Patches is sexy.
