Here's a quick time lapse snippet of one of the character portraits for our game: ShelfLife: Art School Detective!

Before we get the wonderful Hessel to draw the character portraits we sketch out some ideas of what we'd like for the pose and expression.

For this one we wanted two frames of Robbie "freaking out".

After that Hessel will sketch out a cleaner version of the pose and start on the lineart.

If anything isn't working this is the stage where we can make some edits and pivot.

Sometimes something looks pretty good in a loose concept, but bad when it's smoothed out. Luckily these ones turned out great, no changes needed!

Next we add the colour and chuck it in Unity to see the final result!

toaster and toasty..... animated them to have a good toast and a bad toast..... the smoke and fire use sliding textures ...use the node setup then keyframe the slide using the dope sheet. i recommend only using full numbers like 1, 2,500....not 1.34, or 2.86...no decimal points to make it easier to animate. also you need a texture that loops continually in the direction you wont it to move.
