Test printing.
Things worked quite as expected. The halftone dots are not too big or small, the lines in the graphics are a little bit thick. The linkage lines linked precisely in-between left and right, front and back pages. Only some details to change.

Final outcome.
This is a fast pace project. Designing letters is interesting because there are only 26 letters in the alphabet but millions of font were created and are being created. There is still so much potential in type design. Someone asked Bahv how original it can be to design a typeface now. I wonder too. This is why I choose to design a not very legible font because I believe in between the field of text and image, there is still a lot to be explored and experimented. Just like the quote on the brief:
‘We’re attempting to work at the boundaries of language and alphabetic form. Notions of legibility are over-emphasised. You can push type almost to destruction and it can still be read — it depends on the context.’

Final screening. Satisfied to see our final work. However, this is also the time when I notice the flaws, like the audio has room echos, at the end donation part there is missing rolling subtitle, the final casting page has a geometric font which is not matching the others...

Feedback: too childish?
Can thinking of making something for educational purposes, like the book “Chineasy” that creates Chinese characters with simple illustrations to teach Chineses.
I think I might have gone too far for the unserious and relaxing feeling of my agency that forgot my target audience is 18-35.

Research, visual guidance for design.
The essay I have chosen discuss Nobokov’s book “Pale Fire” and how it invented the earliest hypertext by making the readers jumping around in the book randomly, just like browsing endless websites when you click on one term, then another, then another...
So I want to try design this book just like Pare Fire is, to break the text into pieces and let the readers jump around in between pages.
Just like this reading map of Pale Fire shows above, I will link the pieces of text by lines to lead the readers.
Also I will highlight some terms in the essay and actually creating hypertext links in the other pages of the book.
This is very experimental and that’s what excites me.
