"Destiny's Knight brings us a new paranormal romance by Ms Couper with a smart, sassy, strong heroine and a melt your pants gorgeous fallen angel." - Deanna's World Reviews
He fell from Heaven for her…
Playing the kick-ass demon slayer, Destiny, in the blockbuster TV show Destiny’s Knight is a dream come true for Billie Sheridan. It’s a surreal, exciting world and she loves every minute of it. Until her agent tells her an obsessed fan has escaped police custody and is heading her way. She needs protection. Now. Enter Nathanial Knight.
Nathanial Knight’s fall from heaven wasn’t planned. But no matter how he tried to deny the call of Billie Sheridan, he failed. Cast down, he conceals the fact he’s an angel by working for Guarded Souls Protection and Security, but when he learns of Billie’s stalker has sold his soul to the devil to have her, he moves. Fast.
Billie’s character may exist in a world of demons, but discovering her protector is an angel is going to take some getting used to. Especially when he’s so damn sexy, and all she wants to do is discover just how naughty a fallen angel can be…

Okay, what if Michael - now armed with the knowledge of how Dean and Cas really feel for each other - sets about seducing Cas into joining his side via emotional manipulation and maybe even blackmail, and the very first Destiel kiss we ever get to see is actually Michael using Cas’s feeling for Dean against him? And then the next time we see Dean and Cas kiss, Cas won’t know if it’s Michael kissing him or Dean?
i just read a washington post article on romcoms aging poorly due to the pushiness (and oft-stalkery conduct) of the male characters therein, and it got me thinking about pride and prejudice, and specifically darcy saying, “one word from you will silence me on this subject forever.”
because, like, that’s the seldom-portrayed romantic dream in the patriarchal hellscape that is our world, isn’t it?
a dude being willing to say, “i understand if you don’t feel the same way about me, and i’ll leave you alone forever about this if my attention is unwanted.”
so simple, yet so wonderful in its basic human decency
#it was written by a woman!
Underlined PSA
Figment, the recently closed writing website, has just launched (after a long delay) their long-awaited successor to figment known as Underlined, where users can post their work and receive feedback, supposedly.
DO NOT USE UNDERLINED. DO NOT POST YOUR WORK ON UNDERLINED.
Underlined’s terms and conditions contains a clause stating that the rights to all your work that you post on their website belongs to them!!!!
Underlined belongs to Penguin Random House. This is an extremely dirty trick for them to play on writers, especially young writers and children, who come to the internet to get feedback and will lose the rights to their work. Please boost!!!
For my writing friends looking for an online writing community, DO NOT USE Underlined.
I went to confirm @greater-than-the-sword‘s post, because seriously publishers are still pulling this garbage? And yes, they are. If you want to check out the full terms and conditions, have at it. They are full of writers’ nightmares, a few of which I’ll highlight under the cut.

Oh boy, I made the mistake of saying how much I’m enjoying the direction Supernatural is taking on Twitter yesterday. Whoa...
Let’s just bring this back.

I’d also like to point out that it says ‘someone’ rather than ‘some girl’
Perfect.
As a multi-published, internationally bestselling romance author who knows a thing or two about love stories and meet-cutes, I thoroughly endorse this perfection.
Honestly, I think the whole “don’t pay the writers” thing boils down to the notion that everybody thinks they can write. It’s the old saw about the novelist at a cocktail party having to hear someone say, for the millionth time, “I’d love to write a book someday.”
Someone–Stephen King? Pretty sure I saw this in a Stephen King foreword–once said they’d like to say to a brain surgeon, “Boy, I’d love to do brain surgery someday.”
We treat “the ability to put words into a sentence” like it’s just the same as “the ability to form a coherent narrative that engenders a variety of emotions within the reader and puts them in a scene and shows them what they didn’t see before”.
And that’s like me drawing a stick figure and saying I’m an artist.
Writers are constantly devalued because everyone thinks they have a book in them and don’t realize the level of skill and commitment it takes to finish even a short story, much less a whole book.
This goes well beyond fandom, but man, I would’ve hoped fandom would know better.
***REBLOGS AGGRESSIVELY***
I don’t reblog often, but this neeeeeeds to be reblogged.
It’s A Freaking Love Story
Look, I’m a multipublished, award-winning romance author. I write love stories for a living. Every day I write about people falling in love despite all the conflict (internal and external) fighting to keep them apart.
And I’m tellingh you here and now, the story of Dean Winchester and Castiel is a love story.
Trust me on this. I’ve spent the last ten years writing about people falling in love. It pays my mortgage. I know what I’m talking about.
