Anna was not replaced by Castiel lmao. This is pure fanmade myth making. Julie McNiven had a limited episode contract from day one. Something like four episodes I believe (if someone knows the correct number please do share). She has stated this multiple times.
I’ve actually seen this stated as fact by both Destiel fans and Destiel haters lmao. But no, Castiel didn’t replace Anna. Kripke once again was making it up as he went along once again proving that he never had a five year plan and couldn’t even keep on track for a one year plan lmao. All the romantic tropes you say you saw written in were indeed written in for the characters as they were; not as they should have/could have been.

The main problem I have with the Supernatural fandom is that we can’t agree on things. Like we can’t agree to like the show they way we like it and leave everyone else alone. And the biggest thing we can’t agree on is Destiel (I told you this was controversial).
I don’t think we have to agree on Destiel, or Dean’s sexuality. That’s not what this post is about.
What I mean is the fact that Destiel is queer-baiting and is most likely never going to happen (especially since it involves making a main male character openly bisexual/pansexual). I feel this is something that we can all agree on, and yet we don’t.
Those who like Destiel (I myself included) should be able to tell by now that the Supernatural production team as no intention of making this canon. They just keep stringing us along with scenes that say otherwise. And even if they were to make it canon it would most likely be in press conferences and not in the actual show. So they should know that the other sides arguments aren’t invalid.
Those who don’t like Destiel, or can’t see it, or don’t want to see it, should know that it will most likely never happen. And they should see that the people who do like Destiel are just being strung along. And maybe they can react to others with a little understanding.
But we don’t agree on this. We are too invested in this show and in this relationship (even the people who hate Destiel). We spend to much of our time on it.
And it’s queer-baiting.
The show producers know this and they aren’t going to stop. They have conflict in the fandom, they have people talking about the show, they have dedicated viewers. So why should they stop?
But I think we should stop!
We should see Destiel for what it is: queer-baiting. We should quit hating on others in the fandom, because both sides are valid. We should enjoy Supernatural for what it is: a show. And we should all be a little kinder to one another.
TLDR: Destiel is a fandom relationship that shouldn’t effect how people in the fandom interact. Let’s be kind!
