Now..
I was recently in one you know? It was awfully fun.
More fun than this empty place in the middle of nowhere? Probably.
Katie: Ouch. Well, that stuff happens. So what's your thing?
Leyla: Yeah... Pantherinae Physiology. Or I go from human to black tiger in a matter of moments....
Now..
Oh I was glad to come, don’t you worry.
I'm not. You are the one who said a hospital was more entertaining.
Now..
I don’t recall an initial charm..
I guess there would have been a charm if you were like me. Asking to be here and all.
"Guess I’ll take it then. Just try not to hit the face, yeah?"
"No promises. I sometimes lose myself when I get into a tiger rage..."
Katie: Do you have many friends here? I don't have a lot of friends. I'm new. Ish.
Leyla: Not really. I kinda keep to myself. To make it worse, I've been here for months now...
"I guess that’s the best I’m going to get, isn’t it?"
"Yup!"
Katie: Well, you're certainly the first one to think it's funny, so we should be friends
Leyla: Really? Wow... Sure why not?
Katie: 'Oh sheet!'
Katie: That wasn't funny, I'm sorry
Katie: I found a paper with this number written on the floor and thought why not? Hi I'm Katie!
Leyla: Actually, I thought it was pretty funny....
Leyla: Huh, I wonder who wrote my number down... I'm Leyla.
Now..
It seems like the hospital is more entertaining than this place.
This place does seem like it's lost it's charm.
Katie: What did the blanket say when it fell off the bed?
Leyla: Uh. I don't know. What? And how did you get my number?
Don't let this bowtie confuse you. I'm an animal.
Connor smiled as he saw the grin cross her face, she was a lovely young lady to look at and he was quite enjoying himself. “Yeah, I would rethink that decision now, tigers tend to be solitary, and as a male I’m sure now I’d be in actual trouble. Besides I’d be disappointed to know I’d never get to meet another person like me if I’d gotten gobbled up as a kid.”
Trying to hide a smirk he concentrated as best he could on the words coming out of Leyla’s mouth as they seemed to be flying past him. He was relieved to see her nervousness wasn’t because of how he was acting. Girls were always the hardest thing to decipher, he’d take squaring off with a wild animal any day. “I wonder how many of us are out there, or if there is anything the administration can do to help us reach out to others.”
Leyla nodded solemnly when he talked about being solitary. She had hoped to be around him more. She brightened up and smiled at the thought of him being happy he met another Pantherinae.
Leyla realized she was still talking faster than she should and tried to slow down. “Sorry, I’m talking so fast. Sometimes I don’t realize I am until it’s too late.” She reddened again and then jumped right out of her seat and into a standing position. “Do you think they could? I mean, I’d been thinking of asking but I never thought they would actually think about it!”
"Now when you say it like that. It’s just I would rather not get harmed, I mean look at me. This pretty face can’t afford claw marks."
"I wouldn't leave deep wounds, I promise."
Don't let this bowtie confuse you. I'm an animal.
Connor shrugged at her comment of he being a cat person. “You never know”
Connor smirked, “I…was a handful..as a child. And yes, I did. But I was only five. And nothing happened, they had cubs and they were playing and I wanted to play with them…the mother didn’t seem to care much that she had another cub.”
Tilting his head he said, “Really? That is so interesting, I wonder if that is why your coloring is so different.” He stopped and started again “Not different in a bad way or abnormal,” he held out his hand trying to backpedal in case he offended her. “I only mean that…your powers are really cool…”
Connor felt bad feeling like he was intimidating her, he really needed to work on his facial expressions. “I do hope I’m not intimidating you too bad, I’d hate to scare you away when I’d very much like to know you better. I’m a survival expert and not a scientist…but I would really like to learn more about us. But I wonder too if it is just us similar or if there are other pantherine’s who are the same.”
Leyla reddened with embarrassment. “I just figured since you are a cat, you would take more to them than a dog.” She looked up in time to see the smirk. “That’s good she didn’t try to eat you.” She grinned at the thought that passed through her head: “There would’ve gone one great Panterinae.”
Nodding, Leyla tried not to spit her words out a thousand miles an hour. “Maybe, I’ve not had the opportunity to talk to anyone about my weird coloring.” When he started to backpedal, Leyla laughed. “No, it’s okay. I know my coloring is different. It’s nothing to worry about. But thank you,” she muttered.
Leyla shook her head. “No, you’re not.” Leyla looked up hopeful. “Really? I would love to learn more about you as well. I think that there could be other Pantherinaes. Maybe some are actual panthers, tigers, lions, or even house cats! I’ve wanted to know since I turned 15 if there were others out there. That’s why I came to Weatherford. I wanted to meet other Pantherinae but I was the only one. That is, until you came.
5ft2ofsassandsarcasm:
"…Thanks!…Can I have my schedule back?"
"Oh! Yeah, sorry." Leyla handed over the paper. "I didn't realize I still had it. My bad."
O-okay…..um….what’s up?
Well, aparently, I-I'm at your door. Other than that.... n-nothing.
