Such a shame, I'm sure you'd enjoy playing MGS3 because it is set around the Cold War. I have a hunch that you are interested in the Cold War. If so, what got you into that time in history? Did the interest in history come before the kink or after it?

yes. yes, very much so. over the years i have developed a particular interest in the cold war and, more broadly, the history of the soviet union. part of that fascination is undoubtedly personal: my family has roots both in the soviet union and the former ddr, many of them having served in the military at some point, which naturally led me to develop a certain fascination for it. having experienced severe abuse since my early childhood, and having developed masochistic tendencies at a very delicate age, it is unsurprising that themes of violence, authority, and asymmetrical relationships came to occupy a significant place within my life and still do.
