gotta say it makes me very uncomfortable how so many spop fan artists draw bow, who is popularly interpreted as a trans man and is not particularly feminine in the show, as a very femme guy. especially when they do so while drawing him as a trans dude. very big “uwu soft boi” fetishization vibes
Yeah definitely, Bow has a very traditionally masculine body type in the show. Do people just think that trans men/transmascs can't have that? (some of us can't of course, but its not impossible either) its always weird to see Artists only draw trans men/masc characters or characters they hc as trans with this more feminine build "bc theyre trans they either have to be really thin with no muscle or they have to be a soft baby with big hips uwu" like...would it kill these people to look up trans men on Google images or something?
!!!! you are completely correct. bow has the dorito superhero body type in the show and yet in fanart, especially fanart where he’s wearing trans pride colors and such, he gets drawn as like. a skinny little twink or vaguely effeminate. in my original post i was more talking about the aesthetics people apply to him tbh, i see a lot of art of bow with feminized features or wearing makeup or just rlly feminine clothing, and while obviously none of that is Bad on its own, when it’s combined with the common perception of him as a trans man it makes me super uncomfortable.
