▸▸▸ CASTING CALL 020 : ( PROJECT WR AUDITION / PROMPT B )
on the day of the audition, aeri was feeling a hint of nervousness despite the countless times she’s done acting auditions. for every time she did one of them, there was always a curveball thrown at them, usually in the form of improvising a scene or answering a series of questions through another character’s perspective. even after all of the hours she’s spent working on her improvisation skills, aeri still had the tiny bit of fear that she would break out of character midway or struggle to make the scene engaging for the casting committee.
evening star. an ( event ) starter for @lgchyoseop
modeling was something that aeri enjoyed on the side since unlike other gigs where there was an emphasis on personality or eloquence, she could focus more on looking attractive for the camera. after finding out that she would be one of the models for aurora’s latest collection, aeri was ecstatic and hoped that the final outcome would turn out great.
while the staff were busy preparing for the scene, aeri’s attention gravitated towards the products and seeing how they would look on her. as she looked through each product with awe, she spotted her partner nearby. walking towards him, she bowed her head and greeted him. “hi, it’s a pleasure to meet my partner for the day.” there was a hint of lightheartedness in her words as she offered a handshake. “did you get a chance to look at the products?” she asked, wondering if hyoseop arrived on set recently or if he was here way before she had arrived.

“of course! i don’t mind!” aeri’s eyes lit up, excited for cherry and the day she would get a bigger role. she was always elated whenever the other legacy actors had bigger roles since it meant that their hard work and acting abilities were seen by the public. even if it had been years since she had her main role in a drama, it gave her the opportunity to find her niche in other areas aside from acting. “but when you do get a bigger role, we celebrate first before sharing any advice.” she insisted as a reminder to always celebrate the wins first. the moment cherry mentions cutting her own hair, aeri remembered seeing a snippet of it on youtube. as someone who never had short hair, she was relieved that she hadn’t been asked to do the same. but the thought of having short hair made her curious about something. “do you prefer having longer or shorter hair? i feel like with shorter hair it would require more maintenance, but i guess if it’s for an acting role or some sort the hairstylists can do the styling instead.” she reasoned as she touched the tips of her hair for a brief moment. shaking her head, aeri admitted, “i don’t have a lot of episodes yet so i don’t have a lot to pick…but if i had to pick one, maybe the first episode?” she vividly remembered filming the episode and the challenges that she had to deal with filming content about herself. “fans always asked me to have a channel especially when there are so many legacy actors and models who have one. but i wasn’t sure if i had that entertaining persona that people tend to gravitate towards, so whenever i had free time, i’d look at other channels for ideas.”
“ah, i guess it’d be a nice idea to celebrate me getting a main role, once it happens” cherry nods, though she thinks that’s something that’s far out in the future. while cherry has gotten far in terms of acting skills, she still has quite far to go, she still struggles with remembering her lines, and is still scared of picking up characters that are out of her comfort zone. but it’s nice to have something to look forward to, something to work for, she’ll get that main role someday, she’s sure. “how did you celebrate when you got your first bigger role?” she asks the other.
“i think i prefer having longer hair? i cut my hair short a few years ago, and i did like it, i just… feel like there’s more to do with longer hair? like when it comes to braiding and stuff. but when i had short hair, i’d sometimes have extensions in, so it never really felt like my long hair vanished” she shrugs. cherry was growing her hair out again, her hair had had a change though, she was brown-headed for now, due to martine corporations, though she was planning on going back to blonde soon.
“mmhmm” she nods “it seems like it’s popular for legacy actors and models to have youtube channels, i’m personally just happy i got to have my own youtube channel, you can show another side of yourself on it” she nods “when did you get your youtube channel? i think i forgot”,
“it’s a bit uneventful, but i didn’t do anything special when i found out about it. i think it was more of after the drama ended that i did some things to celebrate the occasion. for instance, i created my own memory box where i put in some of the items that reminded me of the drama. i think i even put some of my scripts there because i’d always prefer the physical version of it over the digital.” aeri explained, wondering for a brief moment where she had placed the box. “i kept it to remind myself of everything that happened during that period of my life.” she added belatedly with a warm smile.
“the nice thing about having extensions is that if your hair is short and you need it to be longer for just a day or two, there’s always that option.” she reasoned. thanks to the conversation they were having, the thought of having shorter hair (even if it was just a wig) seemed tempting for aeri and one that she would consider doing as long as she didn’t have an acting project any time soon.
“about two months ago? so it’s really not that long.” aeri confessed. she’s seen some of the videos other actors and models have released and was impressed by how many episodes some of them have released. “during my early acting days, i like the privacy i had with people knowing me strictly for my work or music. but after a while, i did see some people wondering how i was behind-the-scenes. i know some people could get that from behind-the-scenes content that legacy releases, but it feels nice to be able to share other hobbies i do in my spare time and see people comment and share tips about those hobbies.”
▸▸▸ MARTINE CORPORATION S2 : ( FINAL MEETING )
meetings with the managers were usually intimidating for aeri, and even more so when it was related to her evaluation. despite being comfortable with her career as an actress and the roles she has received as of late, there’s a part of her that knows she could do better. after getting through the small talk with the manager and how well the second season turned out, aeri knew that at some point she would be asked questions regarding her individual performance and growth.
the lonely bloom stands alone. a ( 'one night' event ) starter for @cherrylgc
aeri was quickly learning that the current project would constantly test her improvisation and teamwork skills. with only a rough storyline and the rest left to the cast, she hoped that her previous experience working with the actresses would help. getting into character was easy for aeri, and in her elegant crimson dress, she quickly became kwon yerin — the plus one to a missing partner.
yerin stood at the corner of the venue, scanning the crowd for her partner. her anxious expression was clear as she paced back and forth, doubting whether she had remembered the meeting spot correctly. “oh dear…” she muttered softly, then quickened her pace when she thought she heard his voice calling her name. but as she moved forward, she only spotted another woman, who appeared to be a guest at the party.
“sorry to bother you, but did you happen to see a man pass by earlier? about this tall—” yerin gestured with her hands to show his height. “and he has short brown hair?” she described him further, carefully avoiding mentioning his name. yerin knew that there were a few attendees he wasn’t on good terms with, and she wanted to steer clear of them.
jino claps, as if he’s found a loophole thanks to aeri’s quick thinking. “genius. he would definitely take advantage of the company cafeteria and the coffee bar.” from jino’s perspective, duri was a man who would cut any and all costs that was possible.
he responds with a hum of acknowledgement, already picturing such a scene in his head playing out. “and since duri is already overwhelmed as it is, he probably wouldn’t have seen her kindness just yet, maybe closer to the end when he finally gets over his insecurity of being so inferior to the others and that whole double life side quest.” there was so much he could go over but so little time, from the corner of his eye, he could see the restlessness of the crew begin to settle down, everyone had begun to take their place behind the cameras rather than on set.
“well, here goes nothing, eh? is there some kind of scene starting chant that martine corp does or is that just a urban myth.”
“exactly. he probably wouldn’t have noticed it in the moment, and honestly, in his shoes, i think it would be hard to catch something like that.” aeri chuckled, understanding jino’s character even more as she considered the imaginary scenario. her thoughts shifted soon after when he asked about a starting chant. in some of her past projects, she’d heard of people using a motivational chant or mantra before filming, but at martine corporation, she hadn’t considered it until now.
“it might be an urban myth. i don’t recall us having one, at least — but…” she glanced briefly at the staff before looking back at her fellow co-actor. “maybe you have a chant in mind? you do play one of the main characters, and it feels like something jinhee would ask duri to do on the spot. like asking one of the company’s newest employees to come up with a chant on the spot.” she added the latter with a teasing tone, even though she could easily imagine that kind of scenario happening in the show. she then suggested an afterthought, “but if you can’t think of anything, we can always go with the usual ‘fighting!’”

“yeah, you’ll learn that eventually. the more acting projects you participate in, the more you find ways to deal with those kinds of struggles.” she said with a reassuring smile, confident that cherry would do well when the time comes. “mhmm,” she nodded, recalling all of the skills and hobbies she gained during her time filming for bullet inquiry. “i got help from one of my co-stars because he’s really good at solving rubik’s cubes quickly. aside from memorizing lines and acting them out, i always believe in trying to learn their hobbies and interests to understand their character better. sometimes those moments won’t be shown on screen, but it’ll help you become one with your character.” aeri reasoned as reached for her bag on the vanity table. “you’re right, you have to act so well for the viewers to dislike you as well. but it’s also good if the next or previous project was something that the viewers like. it’ll show that you are versatile.” she smiled as she listened to cherry. as cherry mentioned her popularity and youtube channel, it made aeri wonder how it would feel for people to know them for their channel first. she couldn’t quite relate to it considering that it had taken her years before she considered doing that. a thought had crossed her mind that it led her to ask the question. “what episode in your channel do you think is your favorite one? or the one that you think a lot of fans really liked?”
“practice makes perfect i guess?” it’d never properly felt like that for cherry though. even though she was an idol trainee originally, her dancing, singing and rapping skills never improved much. but perhaps cherry had a tendency to give up, her youtube channel was about trying new things, and she’d generally try those new things, fail, and then never pick it up again. cherry had just been used to not being the best at anything, but maybe if she put more work into it, like she does with hosting and acting, she’d eventually become good at other things too. “that’s nice advice though… you kind of gotta become the character, it was easy for me this time, since my role is similar to myself” she hums “if i get a bigger role some day, can i come to you for advice?”.
“versatile” she hums “it sounds hard to be honest… i’m kind of scared to play roles that aren’t similar to myself, but like we established earlier, practice makes perfect?”. “the videos that have done best was when i attempted skateboarding and climbing” she nods a bit before continuing “but the video i enjoyed the most myself was when i cut my own hair… the video didn’t exactly do as good as my other videos, but i ended up with a pretty haircut, and it was a video where i spoke more than what i usual speak in my videos”. “and yours? notes from aeri, do you have a favourite video of yours?”.
“of course! i don’t mind!” aeri’s eyes lit up, excited for cherry and the day she would get a bigger role. she was always elated whenever the other legacy actors had bigger roles since it meant that their hard work and acting abilities were seen by the public. even if it had been years since she had her main role in a drama, it gave her the opportunity to find her niche in other areas aside from acting. “but when you do get a bigger role, we celebrate first before sharing any advice.” she insisted as a reminder to always celebrate the wins first.

crafting a character had never been his forte — truth be told, he’s never done anything like this prior to becoming an actor. jino
the sequence of events is hazy, a film reel yet to come, conceptualizing it in words could only do so much — he had always been a visual learner. so, crafting a character much like duri — talking it out, imagining putting himself in the shoes of someone he had to create from scratch was a task far out of his reach. creativity had never been much of jino’s forte — however, he’s found surprises in every step of this character, like now, talking it out with aeri had helped much more than he had initially realized.
where duri had always been a name on a page, actually running scenarios through aeri’s own character’s perspective helped jino imagine duri as a real person. in the flesh, living, breathing — working at a company, out of his mind, out of his league, but slowly and surely finding reassurance along the way.
“oh, duri is definitely an instant coffee man.” considering the upbringing jino imagined the man had, it was the only way to go. “it’s fast, efficient, the taste will never differ, not too costly.” it wasn’t the best tasting drink but it got the job done and sometimes, duri seemed the same way. “i’ll probably have to research coffee brands because i’m sure he has a favorite. maybe the cheapest one since he’s such a cheapskate,” jino chuckles.
aeri chuckled out of amusement and interest as she learned both jino’s thought process and details about duri that she might have not known from their script. “if i was him, i’d buy the cheapest coffee too.” aeri joked. “or i would take whatever coffee the office has - it would save some money as well.” she added, briefly picturing the scenario in her head of duri settling for whatever was available at the breakroom without a second thought.
“but from jinhee’s perspective…” she trailed off slightly, her tone softening as her thoughts shifted more into character. “i could see her take note of that.” aeri paused as she tried to step into jinhee’s shoes again. “she might have noticed what kind of coffee he drinks before and then shows up with something familiar. not anything expensive, but something tailored to his preferences to show that she pays attention.” giving a small smile, she continued on, “it’s a subtle way of showing that she cares… without making it too obvious or overwhelming for him.”
glancing past him, aeri noticed a bit more movement from the staff this time. exhaling softly, she returned her attention back to jino. “i guess we might have to try out what we learned about our characters soon.” she said as she could feel the anticipation settling in. “are you ready to take what you’ve learned about duri into the scene?” she asked lightheartedly, wondering if their conversation helped him piece things together a little more.

did you watch the latest episode of martine corporation season 2? that episode is certainly one of my faves! it was fun getting to reprise my role as cha jinhee. there are only 4 episodes left, so make sure to watch it until the end!

letting out a chuckle, aeri joked, “it’s a special ability of mines…to know when to say the right things to people.” she’s certain that she doesn’t have that skill, but perhaps her seniority had given her wisdom that her younger self would have wanted. “but you’re right, you should be excited about your future abilities! you’re young, so you have a lot of time to try out something new. whether it’s for yourself or acting, gain those new abilities for the sake of wanting to grow.” when aeri heard cherry’s question, she remained quiet as she thought of her roles again. “in the past i would say the unlikeable characters, but i think nowadays it’s more of roles that are too close to who i am.” she’s aware that there were parts of herself that she hadn’t shown publicly yet (or even to some of her fellow co-actors) so she had some uncertainties portraying characters that are too close to who she is. “really? i would have thought that a lot of them would be from your acting projects.” she reacted, surprised with cherry’s words about her viewers, even though in hindsight she could see why.
“it is nice” cherry nods. she briefly looks away, thinking about the break-up from the summer. her and areum kept the relationship so private, that when areum broke up with her, cherry had no one to talk to. cherry’s dad knew about it, and while cherry did bring up the end of the relationship, she never had a proper talk with her dad about it all. she hasn’t talked about it with anyone, even though it hurt like hell, she’s figured the pain will just fade with time, but it still hurts so incredibly bad. she looks at aeri, briefly thinks if that’s something she could talk about with the other… maybe… cherry needs to talk to someone, she just doesn’t entirely want to.
“i still struggle to remember my lines” she pouts, “i fear if i got a bigger role, i wouldn’t be able to remember it all… but i’ll learn that eventually, right?”. remembering had never been a talent of cherry’s, and her roles so far had been so small there wasn’t much to remember. this was her biggest role so far, and she’s pretty sure she’s read through her lines about a million times, to make sure she doesn’t forget anything. “that’s interesting” she tilts her head to the side “you learned to do rubik’s cubes just for your character?” there’s obvious curiosity in cherry’s eyes.
“i think unlikeable characters are harder to act… you have to act so well the viewers dislike you as well” she shrugs. “nope, at the moment, if i get stopped on the street, they know me from my youtube channel and not my acting projects” she hums. “but my youtube career has been going on for two years, whereas acting i’ve only done small roles here and there”. “i enjoy my youtube channel being successful, but i look forward to when people know me for being an actress as well”.

▸▸▸ NOTES FROM AERI : ( EPISODE 4 / TO SPRING ) FILMED SOMETIME AROUND MARCH
during the latter end of march, aeri always made it a goal of hers to visit the han river and see the cherry blossoms. some of the areas were crowded, but the actress made sure to wake up quite early to see them in person.
▸▸▸ NOTES FROM AERI : ( EPISODE 3 / TO THE COZY GAME ) FILMED SOMETIME AROUND MARCH
aeri had some hesitations about purchasing a new game on top of a gaming console, but after hearing the reviews and needing an idea to film a video about for her personal channel, she decided to listen to her followers who were aware of her fondness of the pokemon franchise.
”i agree, it’s a short timeframe. i wish we could have done something longer, but,” seona shrugs. “we do what we’re told i guess. its a challenge but i think we’re both up to it,” she says with a smile.
“that’s a great idea!” seona tells her. “what i’m thinking, maybe, we have a sequence of clips put together, 30 seconds each? the first one where one of them fills out a form to apply for a roommate. another clip where they’re moving in and things are awkward. next they can be seen sharing a meal together and it’s still awkward, but they’re starting to feel comfortable with each other. finally, it could end with one of them getting a new job and having to fill that form out. she thinks really hard, but in the end she writes down her roommates name and smiles,” the actress pitches her idea to aeri.
“what do you think? is that feasible?”
aeri began taking quick notes on her notepad for reference as she listened to seona’s suggestions. “i think it can work. as long as each clip conveys the scene effectively, viewers should be able to figure out what’s happening. i don’t think that’ll be too difficult for two talented actresses.” her tone turned lighthearted toward the end, confident they could nail the scenes even if they only had a few seconds to get the point across.
once she finished writing down the scenes, another thought came to aeri, this one more about logistics. “do you think we should film everything in order, or just shoot whatever we’re able to shoot first?” glancing down at her notes, aeri wondered if they could film all the scenes in one go. “looking at this, we could do either, but i think the meal scene might need some preparation since we’d have to get food on set.”
▸▸▸ ACTING MISSION 025 : ( IMMERSIVE THEATRE AUDITION )
CHARACTER NAME: kwon yerin

acting, acting, acting. it’s her specialty, but even seona can get tired of the repetitiveness of the job. at least she’s not on set for hours upon hours, this new project taking less of her precious time.
she’s smiles at aeri across from her, fingernails tapping on the side of her cup in a rhythm only she knows. “friendship, huh,” she muses, nodding. “easy task for us i suppose, with how much time we’ve been spending together lately,” the actress says with a laugh.
“well, i guess let’s get the basics out of the way first for the skit. names would be a good place to start, maybe jobs, how our characters know each other,” she looks down at her notepad, the page blank for now. “do you have any thoughts?”
every time it was love month in legacy, aeri was always curious what idea the company would think of to celebrate the month. this year though, she was surprised to find out that they weren’t simply going to take some photos for the polaroids but also include a clip showcasing love in the form of a short.
“mhmm, that shouldn’t be too hard.” aeri said lightheartedly, agreeing with seona’s words. “i think the hardest part would be trying to express that in less than three minutes.” she admitted as she grabbed her notepad nearby in hopes that she could help jot down some ideas.
an idea popped into her mind, something she’d heard before. “what if our characters were roommates? not close at first, but polite toward each other. then one day, one of them has to list an emergency contact and, almost without thinking, writes down her roommate’s name. after that, they start showing up for each other more and more.” she reflected on her idea for a moment, wondering if it was enough to convey a meaningful friendship in such a short time.
